As of right now, it's possible to upload both MP3 and OGG files, but keep in mind OGG files do not properly display their tags on the site. This means that it'd be best to remove any Japanese from an OGG file before uploading it, if possible.

As always, feedback is always appreciated. Post any error messages you get, post opinions, suggestions, whatever.

Main server holds 7 users. There are a number of relay servers up that automatically redirect you when the main server is full, so don't worry. If you are not automatically redirected, you can manually connect to them. There's a page on the main site to check what relays are currently up.

Now that's some fine tagging there. It looks like Unicode processed as one-byte characters, then converted to simple ASCII. That quote-y-t-h part would be the Unicode BOM (0xFF 0xFE), which is ÿþ in the Windows-1252 codepage, and that would be converted to "yth in ASCII. And the strings are cut short because of the null-bytes following simple latin characters.

Hey, that actually makes a lot of sense. So it parses UTF-8 as if it was a single-byte encoding when it is multibyte, and so "duplicates" multibyte characters, replacing them with two characters of gibberish, until it finds a character which has got 0x00 as its second byte, i.e. an actual single-byte character, thus interpreting the 0x00 as an end of string?

It may be possible, but seeing that non-ASCII characters were converted to simpler characters, some information was lost in the conversion.

If this was done by Pyonta's script, then the original files have the correct information, and the solution is simple: read those again, with the correct conversion. If the files were uploaded this way, then it's more complicated, and I don't know any utilities for it right now.

Actually in this case the source is UTF-16, as it has a Byte Order Mark, and ASCII characters are paired with a null-byte, thus every character uses 2 bytes. UTF-8 does not use a null-byte for the ASCII part of its character set.

In that image, the title and artist begin with a latin character, and the following 0x00 ends the string for the software which was not prepared for UTF-16. The album name is most likely japanese, that's why it wasn't cut so early.

And I don't know what is that conversion which converted those into simple printable ASCII.

Probably deleted songs from the C78 section (not even sure what that section is still up actually) that SAM still thinks are alive. I could just tell SAM to refresh everything, but last time we did that tags got swapped around like crazy, so I don't think we'll do that. Pyonta probably has a better solution than what I just through of.

Sure, there's the shyness factor, but facing your fear is the first step in becoming a better, and in this case, more confident person. It's not hard to talk live, just pick a topic of your choice and talk about it for five minutes or so.

It helps if you don't visualize the crowd. Visualize only yourself and the radio host. There's no one else there, just you two having a private chat. That way, there's really no fear if you think you said something silly or embarrassing, right? Only one person heard it.
