Kanako is probably a snakey deceiving bitch just like my mother, so I'd have to say Ran. She seemed concerned about Chen during the extra stage, and gave Reimu a stern talking to before they fought. A nice mother who cares about her children and gives them lots of love and affection. The kind of mom who would bake me a cake on my birthday, would never steal money from me, and would always cook a nice meal for me when I got home from school.

That's the kind of mom Ran would be, and it's the kind of mom I want to have.

Polite sage.

>And yes, I am projecting.

This made my day. :)

It's true. There's a balance to be struck. Mothers like Ran would be too indulgent, but if you had a mom like Kaguya or Yukari, you'd basically be living off of ramen and buying new underwear in bulk because there'd never be any washing done.

Kanako seemed like the best balance because she seems strong-willed enough to enforce discipline, but still be warm and cuddly and caring. Even if she's a little dense when it comes to young people.

There's a good doujin by Fuantei with Shinki. Alice hates her because she's been smothered by her growing up. Could be something for /jp/ to relate to.

I'm with these guys. I'd rather have had Yuka or Kanako as my mom and maybe I won't be such a failure.

Whenever I'm with my mom my self-esteem takes a huge hit. I don't know why, but when I'm around her I suddenly feel lax, like I don't have what it takes to get stuff done and I have to be quiet, passive and polite because I'm not capable of doing something without help.

Now that I'm living on my own with my own roommate I feel a lot better. Ive always felt more able when my mom wasn't present.

And like the Anon said, Ive lost weight since Ive started living by myself.

Every idea I bring up, every initiative I take, every reasoning I brought forth, every thing I did, from the way I dressed to my penmanship, in every single minute detail I can think of my mom has always told me that I was wrong, my out look was wrong, I'm just better off listening to her because she only wants what's better for me. And that I'm wrong, can't stress that enough.

Let me give you an example that happened recently: I bought a LED tv for my apartment and I was arranging the furniture around it. My mom complained that it was a horrible arrangement because of how close the TV was to the chair.

I outlined my reasons for this: Its a small room I don't want to be in a situation where I increase the volume so loudly that it'll disturb others, sitting closer to the tv conserves space and makes it so I won't have to increase the volume over the normal setting.

My mom scoffed at me. You know the type of scoff you scoff when your condescending to a kid who knows shit about what he's talking about? She said I'll hurt my eye sight if I sit too close to the TV. I should drop the idea so I won't hurt myself, I should remember that eye exams are expensive and she's the one that payed for the pair of glasses I'm wearing right now.

I explained to her that the whole "sitting too close to the TV spoils the eye sight" is unproven and then I googled the info and showed her on my laptop.

My mother wouldn't scoffed once more and dismissed the page by saying its wrong, that she's right and I should listen to what she says because she knows better.

Imagine this, but with everything you do and for 21 years. The way she treats me is like I'm inept even when I give good reason, its gotten that that "Anon is inept" is not ingrained in my family's sub-consciousness, all my uncles except one and all my aunties believe this. The only people who give me a chance is my twin sister and one of my uncles.

There's a reason for this, my dad was bi-polar and committed suicide. The general consensus is that I'm going to be like him so ever since I was 4 its been generally accepted that I will fail like him.

That kind of idea that I can't do anything has been with my since my father died when I was 3 and its specific only to me. My sister has been left to her own devices and is a strong individual. I hate and admire her for her single mindedness, selfishness and disregard for people who tell her she can't do anything.

That idea has made has shaped my current self. I'm nice, passive and soft spoken because I'm afraid of rejection, I'm afraid of rejection because I'm afraid of being left to myself and alone. I'm afraid of being alone and alienated because I'm not sure I can survive without help from someone else. Because of how my mother treated me now I'm a ball of weak-willed fake-nice dependent individual.

Sorry for the tl;dr.

Yukari did well with Ran!
But since I love my mother as my mother and can't disrespect her I would rather see Yukari or Ran as a good wife to marry.
