I believe you shouldn't underestimate Aikido. Now I know you may be thinking, "Why take a weakling martial art like Aikido seriously when I am learning Kendo?" I can see why you would think that, how can a peaceful martial arts like Aikido beat a powerful one like Kendo?

Well, I have a story to share with you.

Years ago, I was a Kendoka, I thought I was the toughest kid in high school, I would pick fights, and kick ass. I was full of hate, until I picked a fight with the wrong dude. He was a Japanese exchange student, I still remember his name, Noboru Takeda.

I picked on him because of his hilarious and thick Japanese accent. I told him I was going to beat him so hard, he would go back to China(Yeah, I was a little racist prick.), he never said anything back, made me wanted to kick his ass even harder.

Well, here comes the fight. I threw men and do strikes, he dodged them like I was a mere white belt. I was tiring out and he knew, I saw the smirk on his face that made me raged hard. I put all my strength in one amazing tsuki, and he grabbed past it to my wrist and threw me over. My back smacked on the hard cement ground, and I was knocked out for who knows how long.

When I woke up I was in the school infirmary, I asked the nurse who brought me here, and you guessed it, Noboru Takeda. The next day, he wasn't at school, he was back in Japan, and I never got to thank him, for saving my life and showing me the light. I soon learned that he was an Aikidoka and have been practicing Aikido ever since to show my thanks to him.

I have defeated countless opponents using Aikido, and they always ask me, Why are you so strong?

I answer, I'm not strong, you are.

Aikido uses the strength of the attacker back at them but 10 times stronger(estimate). Using Aikido and I can probably kill a charging Rhino using it's force right back at it, of course, I'm not going to try it, way to dangerous for any sane person.

I recommend practicing Aikido for every /jp/edo, as you are all physically weak, and Aikido is specialized for the weak to defend against the strong.

There was a need for more than 1 character? One of the best features of FFXI was the ability to change your job whenever you wanted. So I never saw any point to creating more than 1 "leveling" character unless you were an extreme power gamer and needed every merit point in each useful spot.

The level cap increase actually made things fresh and exciting again. The new endgame event of choice is basically a whole lot of either 15-20 minute respawn NMs or ??? spawned NMs. Very accessible, and the style of play promotes fairly small group play (a single party will suffice in most situations) while still providing a challenge. The only downside is that the gear is fairly easy to obtain so unless you want to level another job, you might reach your goals within a few months.

The grinding putting you off? It's not as if EXPing is hard now with it still being ~50k/level to 90 and getting upwards of 150k/hr exp in moderately skilled groups.

I suggest giving it a shot again after Japan gives the okay to S-E to power up their server farm again. Earthquake issues have them conserving energy, so no FFXI/FFXIV for the next few days at least with possible extensions.

Well, they do still have the character reactivation service. If nothing else, next update they're making dynamis more open. Last I read on the official forums, they're making it a one-time, low entry fee and you can enter once per day. They're also doing away with zone reservations and redistributing mobs, presumably, to make it more friendly to having multiple groups in zone at once farming. While I think it may be too little too late, as me and everyone I know are thoroughly sick of dynamis, it isn't a bad change, since I can't even recall the number of times my LS has been blocked on a dynamis-sandy/glacier/xarc run by some group of 3 random asshats going in to waste our time.

Back on Bahamut server, there was a very strict schedule run from a website that let JP/NA linkshells schedule Dynamis times. With of course a couple incidents, it was almost always followed to the letter. Zone reservation was never a problem on Bahamut.

I don't think it will be anytime soon considering how much of a flop FFXIV was and now the natural disaster Japan has to recover from. I'm somewhere over 800 days of playtime myself and I can see where a lot of people would have issue with it. I was a main job PLD and DRG with everything for my jobs short of relics. My LS was active in all endgame short of ground kings, and we were nearing completion on everything. Also, it just seems bad when certain pieces of gear from 2005 were still among the best even in early 2010 (hello, e.body/n.legs), we have issues. With all the sidegrades of gear over the years, we needed a fresh start and a level cap increase, with new gear to accompany it. It was really the only way to make the game fresh again. I will admit that I sometimes wish there were something else to do besides abyssea, but in their defense, it's a damned nice endgame system and I don't think they could have done much better to replace 7 years of endgame in a mere 3 updates.

You may be right, it could be the best expansion from the perspective of some players. I just couldn't accept their decision to raise the level cap when they were adamant in saying they were never going to raise it beyond 75.

As far as I knew, Blue Gartr was a Bahamut linkshell. Guess they had a Leviathan branch as well.

They were the "big time" North American linkshell until ours surpassed them and pretty much everyone else (except maybe that "Fantastic Impromptu" linkshell, if I'm remembering the name properly).
