I lived in Osaka for a couple years.

High rents, everything costs money. People are fucking everywhere. I mean everywhere. The buses and subways are always crowded shoulder to shoulder, and the streets are no different.

Also, there are not as many cute girls around as you'd think. Most Japanese girls you'll see fall into 3 categories; a) truly pretty b) pseudo-pretty assuming they put a TON of make up on, and c) ugly as hell.

Okay, this was a rare case but here is what happened: First I tried to get behind I middle school girl. I was diagonally away from her. Not close enough to touch her and not close enough for her to touch me. Then the train stopped.
The train was full so everyone near the door area got off the train. I was the one of the first to get back on and went towards the opposite door. I don't miss it. oftentimes my boss tried to underpay me, or simply just not pay me at all because I wasn't japanese. I quickly got tired of hearing how my paychecks were "misplaced" or simply hearing no excuse at all. I hated how my coworkers were all hypocritical asshats that would be all smiles and friendly when they were around you, but would talk shit if you weren't- and then make excuses for themselves when confronted. I got tired of being forced to work unpaid overtime every day and coming in on my day off to "catch up".

I especially hated the women, who were either servile and stupid, or loud and histrionic. there was no middle ground. I quickly got tired of them just playing there in bed, no affection, no reciprocation, no noise, no nothing. I got tired of them stealing from me.

I hated my students because the school system I taught at encouraged stupidity and set the bar so low a fifth grade american child could have graduated high school. I hated how- even if they didn't show up- i had to give them a grade. They could sit through the lesson staring out the window and I still had to give them a grade.

I miss nothing and I'm glad I'm back in the states. Fuck Japan.
