My Biology teacher died of pancreatic cancer last month.

Everyday from two years ago I would meet her on the way to the classroom where I would take care of her bugs and lizard. For two years I saw little grasshoppers emerge from the ground, go face to face with cockroaches 30 times their size, and watched them grow and die one by one.

I watched the lizard, Dragon, go from a half a foot long to one and a half foot long. He could only eat little crickets at first, but then he could eat the cockroaches, sometime as big as his head (btw apparently you’re not suppose to do that with a breaded dragon according to a “expert” my teacher talked to. Fuck that expert, he couldn’t live on cm wide bugs forever).

There was a pair of snake we took care of, both garden snakes. Last year, one of them got loose due to someone from one of her other classes leaving the top cage ajar. For weeks their was a rumor that he was surviving on rats and shit in the basements or in the ceilings (or whatever these stupid highs schoolers make up.)

Then she died. One day she was their like always, then she wasn’t. I always knew she had cancer, most of the other teachers did as well. It was obvious to everyone something was wrong when she was wearing a cap from the loss of hair due to chemo therapy.

Now she’s dead, and it’s now been a week since school was last in session due to the blizzard weather. All the animals and planets must be either dead or dieing by now.
My reason for posting all this? What’s my problem?

I can’t bring her name up in conversation or else I’ll loose it and start to cry like I’ve never cried before, but besides that, I rarely think of her.

I repress these feelings by force and subconsciously because it hurts to much. But I know sooner or later, I’ll either join everyone else that was effected by her passing, or join her before I go to collage in a few months.

Why are you people still trying to go to Gensokyo like this? Remember, the Great Hakurei Border is the border between fantasy and reality - between that which is believed in by humans, and that which is not. So if you want to go to Gensokyo, you should convince people that you don't exist. That your life up until now has been fabricated as part of some kind of prank, that their in-person meetings with you have been playacting by another person. At the moment that everyone has stopped believing that there is such a person as "you", you will become "a fantasy creature" and slip past the border.

Or you could just camp out at the Hakurei shrine and imagine yourself in Gensokyo.
The border will open up, allowing you in.
But there's a catch- you have to REALLY want to be in Gensokyo, and must be willing to leave everything about your past life behind.
And you can never go back to the outside world (unless you've got a VERY good reason).
