The ship designs are the only good thing about EVE to me.

The rest of the game... I could never really get into. Too many russians and cutthroats who have an enormous lead on you skill-wise, almost suicide to play solo, and the combat is pretty boring.

Guess it's a matter of preference. Rather prefer spaceship designs that resemble oceangoing ships (logic aside), or that have a handful of weapons with decisive firepower rather than a lot of tiny guns.

EVE ships have lots of greebles, though. Greebles are good. As long as you can tell what they are supposed to be at least.

>> No.6813494
File: 145 KB, 742x799, renown.jpg [View same] [iqdb] [saucenao] [google]

Depends how strict the definition of greebles is, though. Not sure having no intended in-universe function is a base requirement for a greeble.

Don't need to be big, as long as there is some visible moving detail. Although then again, total lack of moving parts or obvious weapons on a warship does work to incite curiosity when it comes to alien spaceship designs.

Which brings up an interesting paradox, since it's pretty safe to assume if humanity ever does come to a point where we can build sci-fi level spaceships, they are probably going to look very alien to our generation.

Then again, battleships haven't been in fashion for a while. Seems for the most part carriers are the most powerful ships afloat.

... so powerful they constantly need another 10-20 ships to protect them.
