I just hope that Ixrec and company understand that the anger isn't because we want to see an official release fail, but rather because of recent bad experiences with such talks. Kara no Shoujo is still in the dark, despite the fan translation being finished many months ago, and we still have no foreseeable release date for Demonbane. If they get this, great, just make sure to get it quickly, but otherwise it gives us uncertainty regarding the future of the translation, we don't know if we will ever see a translation of the title at all of a project that was viewed as a sure release, especially after past assurances that it wouldn't be stopped in the event of pressure from Age.

Any release very well will start with Extra/Unlimited, and then Alternative, being their "jewel", won't see a release unless the former titles do well, which then won't since they are already fan translated, and they suck. This is especially true if it goes through the digital only MangaGamer route.

It would be nice to have some assurance from Ixrec that the translation won't rot for years with him pursuing this route. It would be amazing if this release is successful, especially since this paves the way for a future KNGE translation, but if it just leads to another translation rotting on a single computer somewhere, then it would be a damn shame.

Well, knowing Ixrec, I don't think he'd allow it to be delayed forever. His reasoning for doing this, as far as I can tell, is simply because he wants to create a better product. I mean, we're talking about the guy who went and translated all of Muv-Luv Extra and Unlimited just so that people would understand the story of Alternative better when it's finished, even though he admits that they are crap. But I think if age were dragging their feet for months, he'd probably just say "fuck you" to them and release his patch.
