Uses google to search through the sites and gets the average writing/reading level of what's written

>> No.6691696

There were probably some words related to anime that scored as "intermediate" and upped /a/'s score. No other explanation for that, as their userbase is basically the same as /a/'s and /b/'s.

/jp/ has more weeaboo words though

>> No.6691708

>>6691699
Those weeaboo words were probably not even counted in any of the three categories. For instance, the word weeaboo probably is ignored by this.

>> No.6691711

This means how difficult it is to read, not how educated the users are. When writing, it's almost always better to strive for total comprehension, and therefore write at a relatively "low" writing level.

I'm pretty sure anything not English won't be counted. Thus the majority of anime or VN titles won't be counted. Don't see why the titles in English would make anything more difficult to read.

>>6691711
This might be it. The overwhelming majority of us write simply because anything "advanced" on this imageboard would be pretty silly.

The coders behind this feature sure aren't getting any percentage in advanced.

You're searching for "4chan jp" which is going to give you a ton of shit from not /jp/.
You need to use "site: boards.4chan.org/jp/" to make sure everything stays in /jp/

>> No.6691737

So how exactly do I enable this feature?

>> No.6691743

>>6691737
Go to advanced search in google.
Under reading level select annotate results or whatever.
Search for shit.

Doing image boards gives you weird results.

Goddamnit, this is where all that "X Y is best Y" comes to bite us in the back.

>> No.6691765

This works by scoring keywords. Try searching for youtube and changing the settings to show only advanced reading level sites. You'll see a lot of pharmaceutical spam profiles that don't make any sense in English, because they're just a list of drug names.

Step 1: parse words from google databases from most used to least used
Step 2: split the list into three parts
Step 3: rank a site by its percentage of words in each part

Another successful day at Google.
