As a teen and for most of my university years I wasn't into this kind of stuff at all actually (which is the time period when people tend to sound most ignorant weeaboo-ish); my more naive days were spent purely on vidya.

There's no reason for me to live in Japan either because I already live in the best country in the world for my profession (biotech, and the U.S scientific community is the bar every other country sets itself by). Japan is very good at certain fields of the sciences but it is extremely, extremely difficult to succeed there as a foreigner because their system is very exclusive to startups, and the major industry there almost certainly won't hire an uppity foreigner like myself, because xenophobia/racism.
