Anyways, I guess I'd say more "companion" than wife or slave ... slave sort of implies a dominating relationship, and wife just doesn't seem right either.

I'd love Ran as someone to be there for me, to help me out with things around the house, to cook dinners when I just feel too exhausted from work, to take care of me when I'm sick, etc.
Snuggling up in her tails and sitting together watching movies, talking about anything and everything, generally being good friends to each other. There would be no expectation of romance, aside from maybe a lust-driven fling here and there when she's in heat, but nothing serious.

I'd love to be nostalgic with Ran.
Just loaf around on the veranda at sunset with a bottle of good wine and talk about the good old days, back when people believed and feared the creatures of folklore, back when things were simpler and people still believed in legendary heroes going around conquering monsters, and the legends of old were present day and not just nearly forgotten myths.
And Ran would mercilessly break down that nostalgia sentence by sentence by reminding me there really were no good old days, at least not for humans to have. There was only the period flavour of the usual stuff, with arbitrary silly customs, headless politics, war, starvation and occasional plague.
Then we'd laugh it off, pour another glass and repeat.

Nostalgia is wonderful.

I imagine Ran being the go-to person in Gensokyo for all the touhous who have the urge to be babied. They call Ran and set up an appointment and they come over to Mayohiga while Yukari and Chen are gone and she diapers them and feeds them and rocks them back and forth to sleep.

In the morning, the touhou leaves, waving goodbye to Ran and thanking her for making them feel loved and stress-free for a single night.

The thing is, Ran is actually the one who feels she should be thanking them, as she is barren, and can never have a real child of her own. Ran's babysitting service is the closest she will ever get to feeling the love of a child.

As the client leaves in the morning and waves goodbye, Ran waves back, and sheds a single tear...
