Okay /jp/, listen up,

I'm in Tokyo right now and I'm very new to the city. I arrived last Friday and have been fighting the first weekend to overcome jetlag. Now that I've checked out major tourist spots over the past few days, I feel it's time for a little change.

I'll be here for a longer period (another month) until I move on, but since I'm not going to work anywhere here, or attend school for that matter, it's quite hard to actually meet new people anywhere.

I know some Anons live here or just stay here for vacation. So anyone want to meet up to do ... whatever really. From checking out tourist spots, shopping, drinking or clubbing.

Just a bit of socialising, really. Living in a Gaijin house right now, but the people here are really occupied with work and so on, so there isn't much going on.

So, anyone here in Tokyo anyway? And if you are reluctant to meet up for whatever reason, got some advice for me to check out some places? Kind of hard to get around that much on your own.

>> No.663361

>>663334

Nice advice, smartass. But I'm not here with friends. None of them could have afforded a trip here anyway. So I'm pretty much dependant on the people I meet while I'm on my way. But Tokyo is kind of big. And as it is with those unbelievably huge cities, meeting people is rather a matter of chance.

So you have no definitive plans, and you're going to stay there for an entire month? What the hell's the point?

Not in the country right now myself, but...

if you're looking for people to run around Tokyo with and you're approximately student age, you could try hanging around Sakura Hostel in Asakusa early in the evening. Most people I met there came solo, and were mostly up for the random bar crawl, if nothing else.

Maybe worth a shot if you're really desperate, but I wouldn't necessarily advise hanging out there all the time, as it's kinda against their policy if you're not staying there.

>> No.663971

>>663853

I'm not in the Hostel, but I got a room with Sakura House. (Different branch) And yeah, that means there are people here too, but those guys are busy for most of the time, work and so on.

Well maybe I'll try it out sometime. Looks more promising than walking into a random bar somewhere and trying to meet people there.

>> No.664049

Go walking around if you've the time. If you're lucky, some japanese people might want to try out their english on you. Ask them to go to a bar/etc. and chat over a drink.

Also, fuck the rest of you for being jealous of someone in Japan

Seriously, you're better off asking people who, you know, leave their parent's basements and have maybe actually been to Japan.

True facing the exact problem. In fact, it's harder than in the countryside. There you can always talk to people on the streets. But in Tokyo this would be... awkward and wouldn't work at all.

I just got to kobe 2 weeks ago, starting a teaching job early June. It is tough finding stuff to do after a few days, just make some friends. At least around here people are pretty damn friendly expecially the wommenz, says "Will you be my friend" in english seems to be more effective than I would have thought

I'm pretty cut off from foreigners, all my friends are Japanese and the only time I use English is on 4chan. I go to lots of 2ch events, It'd be kind of fun to go to a 4chan one.
