I liked ZUN's PC-98 art and it fit in well with the graphics of the time, however I'll take umineko's HUGE SHOES AND PUDGY HANDS over satori's stubs.

This isn't really taking character design into account though.

If both of these shots are really representative of the artists then Battler is drawn better, IN OP's PIC.
However I can't forget about Umineko's ham hands or some of the sillier elements like the pumpkin stuck to LambdaDelta's stomach.

In other words, good drawing ability but very poor sense of style.

It's impossible to have exactly what you want when you have someone else drawing for you.
Don't know about R07 but ZUN is far from being rich, good artists demand a lot of money.

Their works are not the best series in Japan.
Unique style has its value.

Both have awful art in the sense they're not professional.

Ryu07's characters all look fat, the hands are sausages, even the lolis have breasts, and the men appear to be packing moobs.

ZUN's stuff is on par with that of school girl doodles. Cute and fluffy until you realize a grown man drew them in a drunken stupor.

I'd give medals to both of them.

He gets NOTHING from merchandise, only samples of the products for free. That's how he rolls, he doesn't have copyright shit for these kind of things. The only thing he demands is that people don't use the original music or other aspects of the game without asking for permission first.

Then he has had at least two comics running at any given time in decent-sized commercial magazines for years now, which then sell a decent number of tankoubons. Your regular mangaka can make a decent living with just one. Add the books, too. And while we don't know if he gets royalties from commercial companies, it is highly probable.

Both styles are hideous, but I prefer R07's in Umineko. It's awfully proportioned but at least is clean ad simple. ZUN's is not only bad but also confusing.
Neither prefer Touhous desings, most of them look retarded to me, Umineko's main cast got some nice clothes.

I like how people say people make profit at Comiket. It's really funny.

And to the people who say that 07th sells tens of thousands of games at Comiket- Comiket lasts 6 hours. It takes about 30~ or so seconds for the game to be sold/autographed/whatever else. Normally, there's about 3 or 4 people selling the stuff. The limit in this case is about 3000.

Comiket is three days long. Max amount sold under set times would be about 9000. Though, I'm not sure if 07th does this but sometimes people go to parking lots and sell them.
