What are the characteristics of a well-written villain?

>> No.6553795

1. They aren't shitty.

Villains are badly written by definition.

Being voiced by George Nakata.

Wait, what?
Are you drawing a distinction between villains and antagonists?

>> No.6553824

Yeah. You figured me out. Strange, I know.

>> No.6553839

I personally like the villains who have a well explained and well constructed reason WHY they are villains, and that their intention is entirely logical under their own circumstances. Like Kuuki-sensei. Who can blame him for doing what he does?
Insane, illogical, whimsical villains are no-good.

The same characteristics of a well-written character in general.

Yeah, I personally don't like villains like him. That doesn't mean everyone liking those are bad and they should change their personal taste. I hope I didn't offend you somehow.

No need to be humble, the joker is a bad villain only normals and /b/tards like. Bit redundant there.

You are kidding right, everyone who hasn't read the comic likes the Joker for the wrong reasons.

Guy has the funniest one liners and he isn't stupid, he is just insane.

erotisized violence like in Ichi the Killer

>> No.6553948

srs response, it varies depending on what the author wants the villain to accomplish. If the villain is merely intended to be an antagonist - tenacious, savage and spiteful - a 1D villain is more effective than a complex one.

>Kuuki-sensei
Whom Spiderman cannot read.
