what I did was go to places that would take old equipment, monitors, towers, etc. and buy a bulk load, say $100 for a palette of computer stuff.
Then, get in there, find what's valuable, repair what you can and sell it all on the cheap.

This really only works in high population density places, like big cities.

Hello. I am an IT/admin type. I'm pretty senior, and I'm being paid 60k, but I could get paid 70-80k if I chose to put the effort into getting some sort of degree. I pay for my computer and the internet, which fuels my hobby just fine. Back in the day I ordered lots of VHS tapes from subbers. I have 200 tape library.

a check showed up in the mail for 600 dollars. apparently i 'fed electric to the grid' and the electric company paid me for it. i looked around my house; i checked everything. i cannot feasably explain how or why that happened; i investigated everything, doublechecked other houses... there was no explanation.

i picked up PCB again. nowadays i can finally defeat yukari in these duels, and i'm not one to be superstitious... but i'm telling you, there's something not right here. ever since that, i've made it a ritual of beating PCB once a day, amongst a couple other small changes to my life, and the checks haven't stopped showing up either.
