Why does /jp/ like Miku? Or all the other vocaloid girls for that matter?

From what I see from 90% of all artworks (aside from porn) and most of "her" music, she is portrayed as your nearby standard trendy girl, wearing fashionable, expensive "casual" clothes, uses makeup and weird coloured nail-polish, drags around an expensive macbook, plays on an expensive les paul guitar, hangs only around with her group of other trendy girls and pretty-boys, and would totally disregard pathetic lots like you, just after the first sight, judging you as a hopelessly uncool and unfashionable lowlife.


If she, and the other characters, were real, they would just be "that group" in your highschool or college, who wouldnt even want to sit with you on the same seat-row during lecture, because you only own a cheap samsung laptop, wear a sweater knitted by your mother, and have a weaboo wallpaper on your desktop.

You wouldnt even be allowed to look at them, without the pretty-boys in their fashion group with the trained, muscular abdomens and their trendy haircuts tells you to fuck off.

So, it's not that I hate her or anything, since I once also belonged to a trendy group at my college, weared fashionable clothes, had a fashionable hairstyle and (still) own a macbook... untill I noticed how pathetic this shit really is, and what douchebags my "friends" were. It's just that I cannot understand how you can all be so masochist to like characters who wouldnt even want to be associated with you in RL.

i don't like the vision of miku as a high school girl

miku is a cute goddess whose existence is singing; she should feel separate from traditional human circumstances(but not unsympathetic; this is the purpose of the other vocaloid characters) and worries. that's really the only way i can believe in a person reflecting the cute and happy qualities she displays anymore.

if i see a real girl try to emulate her behavior i think "who the fuck are you trying to fool?" but miku is a character who doesn't necessarily have to hold to constraints of people who have lived through life. or at least, she didn't have to.

i don't see why a bunch of faggots have to put her in a real world setting complete with school and club, but i guess marketing and globalization are what they are

You haven't looked at much fanart then. While that is common, they are plenty of different fan interpretations of Miku.
