I figured I ought to have some general statements up here that apply to all my reviews, just so that everything is as clear as possible.

First, I always read VNs/eroge in the original Japanese. I have never once read one in English--except the ones I translated myself--and probably never will (some people hate me for saying this, but Japanese is an objectively superior language for storytelling). So if you're reading a bad translation of something I review, don't be surprised if it's not as good as I say it is.

Saya no Uta - Shit
F/SN - Shit
Utawarerumono - Shit
Clannad - Shit
etc.

True.

every other language >>>> english

No shit. I've been speaking it for 15 years and I still can't express myself properly.

Hahaha, oh wow.
Now, don't get me wrong, the only reason I'm even on /jp/ is because I fell in love with Japanese language sometime in the past, but this statement is silly beyond words.

Translated works are always inferior to the original. And you haven't even read it.

Read what? All of shakespeare, no. Many plays of shakespeare, yes. I have also seen two plays in Japanese. They are so bad.

Not really.

Nice try, I'm actually that person with the JLPT1 diploma. I just don't think one language is "better" (especially not objectively) than another one just because I may prefer the one or the other.

I obviously also only read my VNs and eroge in Japanese, but the reason for that is because I believe that translations are inherently inferior to the original (not claiming objectivity on that).

but OP specifically stated that it is better suited for storytelling, just as German is quite good for storytelling compared to English. Not the whole language.

you think there's only one on /jp/? I know learning moonspeak usually makes people think they're awesome or something, but you have your head so far up your ass it's funny.

A play that isn't even tailored for certain language and culture is inherently inferior than the origal one? Who would've thought.

Japanese - 1 word means 5 things
English - 5 words mean 1 thing

English just seems better for writing.

Well of course it's not going to be as good. It's just that it's so bad. It's absolutely terrible. I would like to think that English translations of VNs are not that bad.
