Reposting from the old thread

I noticed at least one punctuation error in the 10k ending. Went to type it down and missed the next line. Then I went back to the game to finish reading and completely forgot where the error was. As far as the timing for the text goes though, it all looked okay. Though did you still want the two rows of text to appear at the same time? I noticed that was fixed for some parts in the 20k ending, so I figured it might be able to be fixed for the 10k end.

More stuff I noticed on this playthrough:

-1st CG

Last line. I think the "everyone" is left over from when you were putting the names in front of the text. I'm not sure if you wanted to keep it or not, so I figured I'd point it out.

-2nd ending

Typo: "unnatual attitude" should be "unnatural attitude"
Kyouko's name is romanized as Kyoko in the line before "What's with that look"

-あげは.txt

Romanization of Kyouko's name is off. To be more specific, it's in the 7th line.

I'll go through Metsu tomorrow.

There's two sequels, Metsu, which has already been released, and Kai, which is yet to be released. If you downloaded the latest version I made, either get 40k points or press up, up, up, up, right, right, down at the menu screen, and click the little cat icon to unlock Metsu.

It seems you can't just lose constantly get get the notes. Anyway, here's what I have so far.

On the Metsu title screen the ranking icon doesn't show up. If I click where it's supposed to be, it brings me to the ranking page like it normally would.

First note:

"One day, a rabbit became it's partner at school", remove the apostrophe from "it's"
"the rabbit was pitiable because, it was wounded and ragged", the comma shouldn't be there

2nd note:

The comma at the end of "the number of students that came to see it fell" should be a period
"The favorite and the unpopular one were different, Their relationship was good, right?" could be fixed a few different ways. Either by replacing the first comma with a period or saying "were different, but their relationship was good"

Cab the "right" be cut out? From the original Japanese, I think there's a sort of questioning tone that needs to be conserved. Rather, I think an "although" in the first part might be helpful, space permitting.

You're a great help, thanks again for your work. Are there any other places you find the phrasing awkward? I haven't really gotten the hang of balancing literal fidelity and flow yet, so any suggestions would be wonderful.

Great job so far. I was here during the first thread, just lurked around until now. I still can't believe that it's finally getting translated and edited into English, so kudos to you guys for getting it done.

And as a suggestion for the next game to translate, you guys should do "Ai To Yuuki To Kashiwamochi", made by the same creator of Irisu Syndrome. It's just as grimdark as Irisu, so take a look.

Plot Spoiler: Like Irisu, you don't really have an idea of what's going on until you play through the game over and over again, reachin high scores. Initially, it seems as if a girl is happily spending time with her boyfriend, but then images of needles and other medical items appear throughout the game. Eventually, you realize the girl has a terminal illness, and her boyfriend is the Grim Reaper. If you don't save her, she dies (gets taken away by her "boyfriend"), but if you do save her she avoids death and lives another day.

>>6413218

It's pretty easy. Here's the deal. When you're playing the actual game, there's gonna be a bunch of geometrical forms falling down. You can shoot white squares yourself with the left and right mouse buttons.

When you hit a geometrical form with a white block, it becomes an "active" block. This active block can activate other blocks, should it happen to touch them. What you want to do is make blocks of the similar colour touch together to make the biggest combo you can, before they all fall down to the bottom.

When a block is activated and reaches the ground without hitting any other block of the same colour, it will become a "dead" block. Dead blocks detract from your life gauge and are generally dead weight at the bottom of the screen. Hit active blocks of the same colour on them to make them vanish.

The life gauge is at the bottom of the screen. Making combos or generally just scoring increases it, wherein killing blocks lowers it. When it drains completely, it's game over.

There' also a shiny ball that comes dropping down every once in a while. You hit an active block on it, and not only will all blocks of that colour dissapear, it will also give you a great deal of life.

About the scoring system, and unlocking things. You unlock different things depending on your score. You don't need any points to unlock the CG's, you just need to lose the game repeatedly (however, Irisu will cry if you lose too fast too much and no one does that). After that, for 10k points you get an ending, for 20k, you get another, at 40k you unlock Metsu, which is the game's sequel, and at 100k you get something else. Can't remember, though.

At Metsu, there's more CG's to unlock, though you can't just farm them by losing.

I'd love to see it, as would kano-bi over on that Chinese Irisu page, I wager. I'm curious as to what all the unreleased things say. How did you guys extract the files from the dxa file? I couldn't figure that one out when I tried it earlier.

Anyway, I'm just morbidly curious as to everything Irisu related -- I did a good chunk of the Irisu TVTropes page, and I'm curious as to if the plot summary et all is correct. We'll see.

Game's creepy as hell without being able to read it. My Tivo has perfect red circles for "recording" in the front, which was awesome to notice after playing through the game once or twice.

Still, you're awesome for this, thanks.

Has anyone gotten the stinger for getting 100k points in original AND getting to level 100 in Metsu?

Anyway, here's a teaser for the next Irisu Syndrome game that the author put on his website: Irisu Syndrome: Solution.

That's not an ending. It's an unlockable you can watch in the folder once you get an ending. It's the same with the other files.

Also, for the guy who wanted to unpack the .dxa files, download this .rar file.

http://www.mediafire.com/?bytkckp6xr9uzmu

Inside is dxadecode and dxaencode. Unrar both at your Irisu data folder. Now, open a command window at the data folder. If you don't know how to do this, go to the folder, make a text file and name it with a .shell extension. Doesn't matters what the name is, but it's gotta be .shell. Now, right click and select open with. Choose to open the file with a cmd window, and the cmd window will open with the irisu data folder directory.

NOW, type in dxadecode.exe -K:shine whateverfileyouwanttounpackhere. For example, dxadecode.exe -K:shine dat.dxa.

For repackaging files, open the command window again in Irisu's data folder and type in: dxaencode.exe -K:shine whatfolderyouwanttopack whatfilenameyouwant. For example, dxaencode.exe -K:shine dat dat.dxa.

It might sound confusing at first, but eventually you'll do it so many times that you'll turn pro-ish.

And if you wanted to, you could even make a batch file to do it for you. Just take the unpacking command, paste it into a blank text file, and save the file in the proper directory with a ".bat" extension. Same for repacking.

So there are two endings in 'normal' mode, one for 10k points, and another for 20k.

a) which one makes her walk on the taskbar?

b) do I need to unlock both before going for 40k and unlocking red mode?

20k makes her walk the walk.
I believe that you do need to see the endings in order as well.

I'm guessing "shine" is a password or something?

yeah, basically. Also, you don't actually need to add the password when encoding. Because, you know, there is no password needed.
Also instead of the DLL method, you can just CD (directory) and then dxadecode.
