Well that's good, because I actually had that dream...

I woke up and slowly opened my eyes, expecting the sun. It was almost pitch black, still night, with just the smallest bit of fading moonlight filtering through my window. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something softly glistening in that moonlight and turned my head to get a better look. As my eyes focused I started to hear her rythmic breathing - just the smallest hint of life. Soon I was able to make out her shape, her tiny body clothed in a loosely fit, light blue nightgown - laying on her side, one wing folded under her, the one I'd seen sparkling gently swaying, moving with her breath.

I reached out and touched her, as gently as possibly, testing to see if she was real or just a trick of the light. As my finger made contact with her shoulder I felt the slightest chill and she let out a soft moan, barely audible. I started to pull my finger away but she'd already started to wrap an arm around me. Slowly she embraced my hand, enfolding herself in it and holding herself tight against me. I could feel her cool skin, her tiny weight shifting ever so slightly with her still adjusting body. Finally she settled again, nestled in my palm. I lay there watching her, slowly, gently, so that I was barely touching her, stroking her back with my thumb, until I too fell asleep.

If I were ever going to die in my sleep, that would have been the night to do it.
