That's exactly why they try to boss around. There was an e-acquaintance of mine who used to be a tripfag on /v/ before he was banned. I think his name was Zhaakuvan or some shit, he used Yui images to avatarfag.
Point is, he was a total douchebag on the group he used to hang out, and NO ONE liked him. In fact, most of us told him to fuck off a couple of times. In real life, he wasn't any different. He barely had any friends, he was a half-mexican living in the U.S., so he was poor and ugly, with a horribly unwashed face. Oh, and his girlfriend was fucking horribly disgustingly fat. Like, nightmare fuel.

Yet he acted on /v/ like he was THE shit. This is the same with all tripfags. Not saying they are all mexican and poor, but they definitely have one issue or another that demands them to pursue "fame" on an internet board.

So to support your point, yes. It really is sad.
