I despise the terms "scanlate" and "scanlator" for manga groups.

We already have words to describe the process of converting text from one language to another--just use the terms "translate" and "translator".

If you are demanding that terms should accurately reflect their etiology in their semantics then I suggest you first start with the "driveway / parkway" clusterfuck, then work your way on to how can it be possible to have "civil" wars, how "inflammable" and "flammable" can mean the same thing, etc.
