Both India and China were assraped by Britain for decades. You know, as their best efforts to fight them off were pretty much futile. So... they didn't have much of a choice anyway.

Dude, before Europe was the vanguard of technology, China was the source of most inventions for centuries. Hell, they still were dishing out gizmos before the invasion. I find it as no surprise for them to be getting ahead of everyone else. The only thing that could stop them is a very bloody civil war, but seeing how China has its citizens enslaved and on a short leash, I do not see it happening.
