Dude, you're totally being that lame house that doesn't give out candy. You're being a total buzzkill to possibly hundreds of kids.

Just open the door and say something silly, and hand out candy. Most kids are fairly dim and need to be prompted to even say "trick or treat," so it's not like you're going to say something "stupid" to them.

I'm just sad that most kid's costumes end up being really unoriginal.

solution: absurd amounts of candy

shit, go to some wholesaler and get bulk packs of Hershey bars or something. While other adults hand out bullshit "fun-size" things you're rolling deep with A WHOLE MOTHERFUCKING HERSHEY BAR.

Keep the candy outside, stay outside. Lots of people in my old neighborhood did that when I was little.

srsly, parents will be way more at ease that way- you're not "beckoning" them into your house or some shit. It also makes for a more fun time as long as it isn't raining. And really, as long as you're not trying to touch them or some shit, people tend to be fairly chill.

You'd really have to try hard to come off as a pedo on Halloween, because everyone, fucking EVERYONE is doting all over the little kids in costumes and giving out candy- it's not like that's suspicious behavior on Halloween.

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love the atmosphere, the crazy stuff at the store, the orange-black color scheme, the whole bit.

But I never really do anything special. Well, one time my dorm did this haunted house and I helped set up. It was pretty sweet, and we kept it up partly for a few days afterwards (we put black tarp up outside the balcony/hall, so it was all dark; that was pretty sweet during the day).

I guess I just like holidays that celebrate through candy. I also like Christmas and Easter (though Easter much less so, as I hate Peeps).
