Oh no, there's totally still a scene for it, even a /jp/ thread up now. I can totally host up and have you play my entry-level little girl if that's your thing, but I like EFZ because it's different enough without being unplayable; soku is most certainly fun but, uh... why did I stop playing it, again? Oh right, because the filesize was to big. Yeah okay, that makes sense, I like EFZ because it's small.

But no, seriously, unless you want to try EFZ again right now let me know if you're up to melt someday.

Those were some fun games Rabbit. It turned out pretty even this time. Usually when I play you, your Youmu completely controls the game but this time I found a way to turn it in my favor.
Why did you stop doing 623C after a blocked gaurdcrush? I'm sure it would have hit most of the time but you just stopped using it in the latter games.

>> No.6198034

>>6198008
Haha, the problem with the 623C after guard crush attempt is that I'd eat a full combo on a miss. Not only that, you were able to kick out of it sometimes since the C version doesn't have melee invincibility on startup. I found that simply following up with a kick of my own could punish your own poke, with less chance of eating a big combo.

Alright, at first it was a "maybe" sort of thing, and it could've just been that you hadn't played in a while, but now I realize you're sandbagging SO HARD that I'm offended by it. Goddamn, DD, you you really have to rub it in that much? ;_;

Uh, either way, GGs and such, funtimes were had even though I could hear you across the internet making fun of me for not, you know, learning anything. At the very least I fended off your jam attempts with Nayukia wielding the FIST OF THE NOJAM, because apparently she's on a jam diet or something. After that, though, I was honestly mashing so hard that by the end of the third round I forgot you even had the meter to jam to begin with, herpaderp. But of course I forgot what Kano's jam animation looked like anyway, so before the match started I picked her with that in mind. Great idea, right?

But no seriously, I think I'm mad enough at being bad that I'll go watch some japs playing and really study them for once, combodrops are wallpunching material. The walls are so thinned out that I can actually see sunlight now, you know!

GGs. It wasn't all completely sandbagging. I noticed the controller I usually use to play EFZ was broken after I had posted, and went to go fix it, but no, you had to be in. So I used my secondary controller, which I had to get used to again.

Those last two rounds were pure sandbagging, though. I was trying to get a cool looking blue IC combo but dropped it every time.

>Those last two rounds were pure sandbagging, though.
Yeah you're a jerk.

>I was trying to get a cool looking blue IC combo but dropped it every time.
Well, you did a 41236Cx5 2141236C proration monstrosity once, if being a jerk was your goal you can be proud of that one. Wallslamuri isn't a prominent member of the cast for long IC combos though, so I guess it makes sense as to why that'd be a challenge. As to why you'd want to do it as opposed to jerkstuff like the SUPER WALLSLAM and the C-wallslam 236C FM trick Lev taught me and I abuse constantly while sandbagging, not quite so understandable. Oh well though, maybe next time you'll get a chance to make my controller collide with a wall or something. Or maybe I'll be able to do such a thing with the combos I learned from moontube.

... Nope, just kidding. ;___;

Yeah, back in the states, so we'll have decent fps now. Should probably check what's the lowest possible delay we can use one of these days.

Aw pff, even I can do those- er, could anyway. There was some massive tourneyfaggy combo that involved 41236C 66 j.B j.C land 2C something but I can't remember the whole thing; I think it was possible to even substitute the 66 for a jump or something too, but one was slightly less practical than the other. Can't remember which. 41236Cx5 2141236C - which I will refer to as the SUPER WALLSLAM - is just what silly kids do when having casual matches just to be like a big middle finger to the other player; once Via laughed it off when I did it because it prorates ungodly high so that it does no damage by the end, and uses much more meter than you need to be using for a total of like 1.5k damage.
If I had the space, this spot would've contained an entire paragraph regarding analogies about sandwiches.

Anyway, I think I'll go to training modo for the first time and grind Miocombos until I can actually do 663C 623A IC j.B 66 j.B j.C land j.C S j.ABC dj.2A2B2C on command. I can do it in theory, b- OH RIGHT, that's what I was going to ask! Doing 663B in place of 663C is still practical for finishing the whole combo, right? I was experimenting whlie getting the ground scrubbed with my face earlier and it seemed like it'd work, didn't manage to get the whole thing off. If you know anything it might just be able to save some hours of anguish.

>> No.6201428

>>6201381
663B should work fine in place of 663C. However, it has a far smaller cancel window, so you can't hitconfirm easily or use it for frametraps quite as well. Also, damage wise, I think they do jC(1) 66 jBC. Add in a 5A before that 5C to pick it up easier. 5ACD 214_ (distance dependant) 214214 etc for a super ender, usually midscreen.

I noticed a huge difference in Suicide Rush Youmu vs Counterpunch Youmu against your Sakuya, so maybe that's where I'm going wrong these days. Still, those were some fun games with all sorts of weirdness going on, like the slip of Aya's Tornado for the game!

Good games again Rabbit. I feel stupid for running into so many reversal cards. I know I should be baiting them out but sometimes I can't help pressing a button.
I think I should start using perfect maid again. I gave up on it a while ago because it was easily punished but it should be fine now as long as I don't overuse it.
> I noticed a huge difference in Suicide Rush Youmu vs Counterpunch Youmu against your Sakuya.
That suicide rush was hard to deal with; you should stick with it.

I was hoping I would show a few of my new tricks in these matches, but I was pretty much failing at most of them.

Man so many highlights I wanted to point out. Those matches were amazing. I tried to used my second weather card for invincibility in that last match, but I was too slow.

Also, God what the fuck is with your Youmu's j5a. It fucking wins everything. I mean I already knew about it but from the time you won with it off an air tech, I've been butthurt about it.

God, shut up, I fucking hate grass-is-greener people like you.

IaMP had way too many problems, Suika being one of the biggest ones. Soku is better balanced, plainly obvious from the overall win/loss percentages spreadsheet taken from japanese Soku players. Except for Hong that is, Hong's always sucked, and I guess has been relegated to be the Dan of Touhou fighters.

I'm betting the next incarnation will have options regarding the weather during vs, and then you will have pretty much nothing to legitimately complain about.

Suika isn't even top tier. She's like 4th in a game with 11 characters so that makes her high-mid tier.

She is, however, great at killing beginners.

Keep practicing and it'll get more even. But do keep in mind that you'll become a pretty boring playmate if all you think about is winning; and crouching like a hyperactive kid on speed every so often when you get a round win. I'm pretty bad against scrub tactics, so figures. Would you seriously deem a game of each player in each their corner wasting orbs as fun? Just think about it, I'm not trying to flame you, but you'll have more fun if you focus on close combat.

Geegees, keep it up.

>> No.6233466

>>6233406
i don't get what you don't like about my victory crouching, I am not to good with crowd control(well maybe with sakuya, or yuyuko(you can't be bad with her)). I don't think i was playing to defensibly i just never really wanted to spend hours learning pro-combos that you cant easily escape when cornered with. I think this game shouldn't be about who can remember and mash 2-line 5-spirit orb combo, but just shooting each other with bullets/stomping on each other head and maybe doing some spellcard quick combo

>> No.6233575

Good Games, DarkMageEli.

Not much advice I can give since I never really use Marisa. Your combos are solid and so are your blockstrings, just gotta work on your movement and defense, I suppose.

That's why you'll stay a casualfriend, and I can promise you that you'll get bored with the game quickly if you don't intend to improve and extend your gameplay; but you don't seem to mind, so who am I to argue.

You may or may not think you're playing randomly in your own way, but there's beginner patterns all over. In the end, most beginners play the same. You play by a beginner mentality
with its respective rules and tendencies. In the end you'll end up learning and internalize these rules, consciously or not, just like how a more advanced players will try to learn new combos and tactics. My point is that it's mostly the same no matter what level you're playing at, but I promise you that the game becomes more intriguing and fun as you dive into its mechanics.

>I think this game shouldn't be about who can remember and mash 2-line 5-spirit orb combo
It's not; ultimately it's about outwitting the opponent by using all the game's mechanics. It won't work out that way if players are of widely different skill levels, though.

Also, you don't mash combos, you mash pokes. In SWR/Soku pokes easily turn into combos.

TL;DR: pretentious faggot yapping

Sorry to trouble you again; looking for more beginner Suwako advice.

I've been tooling around with my deck and I'm trying to decide on a 214 skill. Should I keep Ancient Geyser or use Rain Calling Frog (tried Frog God, didn't like it)?

Nah, you can't, as far as I know, I can't say you "can't" since the way it works is it emulates a p2. so you can probably mod it a bit to control p1, or something.
