You are an idiot. Its not a well known anything. PCB and IN are piss easy compared to the rest of the series. PCB because of the spiritual border, and IN because of shooting the familiars to pretty much clear all the shots on the screen with relative ease.

Really, SA and UFO are the only ones in the entire series I have not yet 1CCed on normal, even if I have gotten literally mere seconds from clearing both before losing my last life/bomb.

Also, my friend with no shooter experience 1CCed IN his first time. It was on easy, but really, thats kind of the difficulty that new people play on. So yeah, there goes that little theory about IN being all super hard. ( I 1cc'd it on normal on my third or fourth try, it was the first in the series that I did so )

Orin rapes my face. I don't even want to know how many lives I lose to her and her stage. I can do Stage 6 without losing any lives though.

Okuu became a lot easier when I learned how close I could get to the HUGE bullets and how fast they shrunk.

>> No.6151008

>>6150995

IN is easy compared to UFO, sure, but it's still much harder than MoF.

IN actually has some difficult spell cards (stage 4, some of stage 6). MoF doesn't have anything even remotely difficult until stage 6; while there are a spattering of cards that require a bit of skill before then, almost all of them can be bombed without any penalty because MoF gives you more bombs than every single previous Touhou game combined.

Agreed. Shou is usually what stops my UFO runs dead. I can usually get to Murasa without losing a life, then lost a couple bombs and maybe a life to her. Then Shou completely fucks my shit up. Half the time I lose all of the lives/bombs I had maxed out on her, and if I make it past her, the meager 1 - 2 lives I have left are not enough for the final stage.

You realise that if you continue it respawns you at the start of the stage, right? Because I don't think someone who's new is going to have too much of an easy time beating stage 5 or 6 with only three lives.

Infinite continues in SA do NOTHING to help you. If you couldn't get past stage 5 with 6 lives that you had saved up from before, what the ever loving fuck makes you think you are going to pass it with the two lives continuing gets you?

You'd be better off with the "5 continues, resume from where you were" system. Also, your point is STILL invalid, considering IN is so piss easy most people seem to be able to clear it their first couple times without continuing. Any idiot can clear IN with 5 continues.

I like the infinite continues system given nowadays. It reminds me of EoSD's practice system. When I get to the point where I can only continue endlessly starting at the start of the stage each time. It's essentially practice mode for that stage.

When UFO just came out I spent some time and beat it with continues. I continued like around a dozen times on Byakuren. I then went to sleep. When I woke up I 1cced the game without any major difficulties.

SA I remember being diffirent. My first 1cc of that was pretty much learning to bombspam like I never bombspammed before. Whenever I think of Marisa's journey through SA I always think of a Marisa who flys right up close to the opponent on her broom and then repeatedly punches them in the face with laser dolls.

Fuck, I don't know.

IN was my first Touhou, and took me over a month to 1cc normal, but it's piss easy in retrospect. After that, I started working on PCB, which seemed just a little harder than IN, but still didn't take me as long to beat. Then I tried MoF, which required nothing more than learning when I could bomb and still end up back at full power, and took all of 4 days to beat. My next Touhou was EOSD, which was by far the hardest I'd played, but still a reasonable challenge.

So here I am now trying to 1cc SA, and holy fuck this game is bullshit. Every shot option is garbage, bombs are worthless, not to mention that if you bomb just once, trollolol enjoy being underpowered for the entire fucking stage because there are only about 12 power items in each level. I can understand making bombs and power items a little more scarce after MoF, but ZUN went way overboard. Not to mention the actual bullet patterns are fucking nuts. Yuugi is throwing Eternal Meek level bullshit at me, and that's only stage 3. Fuck this game. Should I just try UFO instead, is it any easier?

Actually I was talking about how simple and stupidly designed the spell is (like Utsuhos first nonspell).
It sometimes catches me off guard, which pisses me off even further, but usually its easy when you steer in the general direction the lasers are spinning when they begin to slow down. When you realize you're on top of one, stop. When you're flying between them, keep going. Easy like that

>Every shot option is garbage
Use Reimu A. It has good damage as well as spread if needed. Can hit both ends of the screen at the same time, you can use her ability to teleport (useful in stage 5 and 6).
>bombs are worthless
Reimu's bomb lasts long enough to clear a spellcard for you = 1/5 star
>not to mention that if you bomb just once, trollolol enjoy being underpowered for the entire fucking stage because there are only about 12 power items in each level.
You don't graze enough. Move as little as possible and max out your graze meter to autocollect all items on the screen. Red enemies give power, blue enemies give point items.
Collect 4.00 power in the stage, collect star pieces in the boss fight. Don't hesitate to bomb away hard spellcards (Cat's Walk?). You get enough power after each spellcard to refill a bomb in ~2-3 spells/nonspells. It doesn't matter if you end up with 0 power after beating the boss. All that matters is that you get as many star pieces from the bosses as possible = not dying (bombing a spellcard is OK).

Then you'll just practice the stages, move the same every time you play it and never get hit.
Stage 1 is mostl streaming. 2 can't possibly kill you. Just use a bomb in stage 3 if those lasers are too much. Stage 4 is again streaming. Stage 5, use a bomb after the midboss if necessary, stage 6 is again only streaming.
