If you went by ShKanontrice, it's true that Shannon basically takes all the good and enjoyable moments and lets Kanon stressed and overworked - he even had to enjoy the moment in the school which he was supposed to deem annoying.
Beatrice almost never appears and Shannon is the playful child. Jessica, for example, has two faces, a serious and enjoying personality - but between Shannon, Kanon and Beato, Beatrice and Kanon are the competent ones we actually see do meaningful stuff and it actually all feels like Shannon is on the recieving end - being should be Beatrice, the originally evil personality.

I don't think Kanon really dies before he frees Battler 6. The whole duel isn't necessarily happening, even in a metaphorical way. It may just be an expository display of the struggles the personalties face. Kanon dies before freeing Battler according to these scenes, but that's the fantasy explanation of how he saved Battler. When he saves Battler, I think he may die.
