Last night I thought about trying to dream about having sex with Flandre. But then I realized, it would be freaky to dream about fucking a loli, especially if I'm not aware I'm dreaming. Because if it's one of those dreams where my sense of logic is functioning, I'd start to think I'm a sex offender, and the feeling of guilt would weird me out.

Everyone is different, but I've found that lucid dreams are much, much harder to keep going and collapse after a short time. Every lucid dream I've had was at max about 10 minutes or so, by my estimation. Also, most all of my attempts to summon fuckable touhous fail.

One time I was like "oooooh Marisa," and a female figure laid on top of me naked, and I started to fuck her, but then I looked at her face and I was like "nevermind, let's make you Kogasa." Her face turned into a Kig mask and I woke up screaming.

Remembering dreams helps kind of, I guess.
Or rather I know it does, but the task at hand here if you want to have lucid dreams is to realize wether or not you are dreaming, not remembering what you thought of while asleep.

There are certain techniques and things to keep in mind that can help you realize you are dreaming.
But you should also keep in mind that not everyone can reach the lucid dreaming state as easily as others.
For instance, if your mind is somewhat at ease, and in other words not stressed out or generally distressed, then you might actually have a "too healthy" mental health for you to reach a lucid dreaming state naturally.

Because if so, then you may possibly sleep too deep, or possibly shut down too much of your brain in one way or another.
The lucid dreaming state is a rather shit state for rest either, normally the brain is supposed to shut down, rest and do things such as flush your RAM and stuff, not hopping about doing whatever partly concious in a dream world.

So yeah, Lucid Dreams come more naturally to people with an up and often overworked mind.
Generally speaking any state of mind that is not the "healthy" kind may very well help in one way or another as it affects your sleep, but the kind of mind that's suitable is more that kind that has real hard time to not to think, or to stop thinking.
So a stressed mind may be suitable.

>> No.6046804

20-30 minutes? REM doesn't star until around 2 hours into sleep, and that's when dreaming occurs. Just saying~

>> No.6046806

But I can't help but to feel that lucid dreams are overrated.
Sure an experienced lucid dreamer you can do some amazing stuff, but in essence it still is more like simple enhanced imagination, or rather ordinary imagination with no interference from real world senses.

But it's still ordinary imagination so to speak, it may feel like more, but after a while... I don't really know.
Are you satisfied with your imagination? Is your imagination enough to "enterain" you? Simply lying down somewhere imagining things and have it be entertaining enough?
I don't know, Lucid Dreaming is kind of like that, though granted on a whole other level, but even if it feels "real" it still doesn't.
Also, I can't say I have ever felt fully rested afterwards, I wonder if I simply doesn't just prefer the feeling of waking up and continue with playing with the thoughts of a non-lucid dreams, fully rested on a nice day as the sun rises, despite all the amazing things about lucid dreaming.

So yeah, I don't quite know what I think of lucid dreams.
And now, I don't know how many others here who might have had real experiences with lucid dreams, but I can't be the only one can I? I mean, lucid dreams were really something, but I still don't quite know.

>> No.6046829

We're on /jp/ - escapism.
Lucid dreaming is awesome. It does fuck with your normal sleep and you're not as well rested. I still do it whenever I can. Even if it means sleeping in lectures later.

>> No.6047074

>>6046878
Can't really deny that, but even so.
I had roughly a 2-3 years time when I had more lucid dreams than not.

I can also remember that I sometimes felt like some kind of zombie due to sleep deprivation, even though I slept, and generally I didn't feel all that great.
But sure, all of that doesn't have to do with the lucid dreams, but can't see the lucid dreams being helpful for the situation.

Either way, I guess I grew sort of "tired" of the dreams eventually.
I can remember quite clear how I at first often disturbed the very reality of my dreamworld at will, and did all sorts of crazy stuff as the whole experience of the lucid dreams were kind of new.
But I also remember how I later often chosed to simply hover in the sky or something, looking at all kinds of scenarios and terrains of my choice. (for some reason I loved the feeling flying gave me, even though it's superificial, I bet it wouldn't feel anything like it if I could really fly like that in real life)

But you bring up escapism.
I remember being able to do what felt like everything within my dreams, being able to shape the very world I saw and felt, being able to jump back and forth in my dream, shape and alter objects out of anything/nothing, and of course make up my own laws of physics, denying or alter them however I wished etc etc.

>> No.6047082

>>6047074
On the other hand, a question who usually rise whenever I speak of this sort of stuff.
That is questions about sex and romance.
Granted that I was much younger back then, but I was still a teen, and puberty wasn't anything new.
Either way, I have never experienced a wet dream, not back then and not now either, and that is including my lucid dreams.

And to be honest my memory on these particular things of my lucid dreams are rather foggy, I usually dreamt about highly different things.
I remember all kinds of different creatures, scenes and worlds, often far different from our own. And yes I had tons of lucid dreams including other humans and more intelligent creatures that did a little bit of that and a little bit of that, all kinds of stuff really depending on the dream, no real limits while dreaming, or at least it felt like it.
But I have far less memories of actually conversing with any of them on a level beyond real plain and straight forward conversations, and even such memories are rare in comparison.
If I were to make a guess I could figure that it may be hard to think of a two way conversation, or rather "your line" "lots of possible responses and reactions", while maintaining everything else.
Also, a natural dream is more or less directly linked to your subconciousness, in a way that's a seperate "mind track" from your own.
A "forced" situation within a lucid dream you have control over is however different, those are your thoughts/emotions, imprented over the dream world.
But yeah, I could make someone do something or say something, but talking to people like that felt more like talking to yourself, actually imagining a persona with a personality and possible responses and reactions to certain situations was extremely hard, at least for me, perhaps not entirly impossible, but certainly flawed even the times something felt anything near convincing.

>> No.6047090

>>6047082
So yeah, most of the time I was mostly alone in my lucid dreams, but it never really felt as if it mattered, even the thought of thinking about wether or not I wanted to include other people in my dream, and what kind of people was kind of a hassle, I did it sometimes, but how should I put it, kind of a "tiresome" thing at least. Whenever I dreamt it didn't really matter to me as much anymore, sometimes I focused on it on the other hand for the heck of it and did all kinds of stuff with other people.

But if I were to go back to the romance and sex thing.
The romancing part surely felt extremely bland if I were to force it myself, most of the time it only felt as if I were talking to and accompanying myself, and even when I put effort into it still felt more or less glitched in various ways.
And the sex? For me there were never any to begin with.
I was, and still am a virgin who hasn't even had a wet dream, and though I have masturbated for extreme amounts of time, it's not sex.
I could never get the actual sex experience down in my dreams, most likely because it may have been too alien to me.
Whenever anything related to sex rose, critical glitches that were bound to break the suspense and the illusion itself.

What the fuck....Every time i try to have Lucid Dreams it ends bad....
I can`t choose what they are going to be about
Usually they`re fucking crazy....And in the end they become nightmares

>> No.6047098

>>6047090
But then again, I don't have memories of having tried that often, to be honest the truth is that I had a really hard time to feel horny at all within my lucid dreams, there were always other thoughts in my head, so I rarely even tried anything related to sex.
The romance part was anothing thing though, I did that thing a lot, and it was nice but as mentioned above it was still flawed so it still wasn't "that" special even though it was certainly very nice. Imagine being able to sit next to, lean onto, or hug the person you love, but with absolutely no sexual thoughts in your mind (so no such desire, or perverted touching), and still not really being able to talk or do anything special together in a way that would feel convincing.
Still nice in how it could be really comforting to lean onto her, loved ones tend to have that effect, but the complete absence of sex-drive and flawed nature of interaction isn't really something I would call the epitome of escapism.

Then again, that may very well just have been my experience, I don't deny that.
But my sex-drive was really almost none-existant in exceptions of extremely rare dreams, and the sex itself was glitchy enough to break the illusion.
Then again I have never experienced sex. Pain I know, I could experience real physical pain at will, it was anything but alien to me, but I couldn't "feel" sex, then again the dreamworld felt as if it was filled with such vast possibilities I hardly thought about sex in the first place.

If I were to sum it up I guess I could say that the dreamworld still felt like "my" world. That is in the sense of how it still felt lonely, and surely not as lonely as my everyday real life, but still lonely, because frankly, I was alone.
Stating the obvious, being alone is lonely, but playing with "dolls" can help, but in the end dolls still make you feel lonely.

You have the most vivid dreams right before you wake up. Towards the end of the sleep cycle when there's longer REM stages. That shallow sleep state where you could almost go in and out of consciousness.

I find being lazy and sleeping 9 or more hours, then waking up at one's own pace (as opposed to by an alarm clock or something) allows pretty intense dreams which are always able to be recalled upon waking. I have very vivid dreams almost every morning. It helps being not employed though. When I had a job and had an alarm clock waking me up at 6am every day, of course I recalled my dreams much, much less.

Lucid dreaming is just inducing that shallow sleep state, it's kind of overhyped for what it is.

One of techniques witht he highest sucessrating is for you to get yourself an almost obcessive habit of checking what time it is all the time.
Though such a habit could be annotying.
Either way, try to check what time it is more than usually, preferebly on an analog watch.
The parts of the brain needed in order to properly recognize symbols and percieve time goes down while asleep.

This of course differs a lot from preson to person and depending on how deep you usually sleep, but there aren't that many techniques otherwise.

But try to check what time it is often, even if you manage to recognize the watch itself (the numbers could be wrong, or missing for an example) if you check the time often a time glitch could eventually occur.
That is, the time not making any sense because your own perception of time is crippled or lessened while asleep. For it to show one thing, and the next time you look at it time might have gone backwards or jumped hours ahead in a way that doesn't make sense.
Or you could try to read the newspaper or whatever often, text can end up completely uncomprehencive not making any sense.
For you to subconciously paint a massive line of comprehensive text that makes sense is a bit much, but the task at hand really becomes understanding that it doesn't make sense.
You could for an example read complete gibberish, only not realizing that you are, deluding yourself into that you actually read something.
The thing with the watch is the same really, but it usually works better as it's also a test of memory, and not just recognition.

Then there is also the deal of not waking up because of a shcock from realizing you are dreaming.
And you also shouldn't really expect to be able to do all sorts of stuff right away, the realization however does raise your awareness and things evolves from there.

I did some other things on the internet, ate something and went to sleep at which point I woke up and realized it was a dream. And /jp/ was shit as always and that doujin didn't exist after all.

Every time I have a lucid dream, I have like three or so minutes in it before I wake up; every few months or so I'll get one, but it's just me exiting sleep very slowly.

The only time I can have really good waifu fantasies is in the time before I sleep; lying in bed with the lights out relaxed. It's not a lucid dream, but when your brain waves start transitioning from Alpha to Theta to Delta, you can get more and more into it and you don't have to rely on the luck of the draw as to whether or not you'll have a lucid dream.

>> No.6048777

The best way to get lucid dreams is to wake up then go back to sleep. You don't want to get sleep paralysis. Did you ever want to feel a sense of utter dread whilst a demon whispers in your ear in an incomprehensible language and you slowly float up in the air? Sleep paralysis experiences are similar.

how am i supposed to check for stuff like time or to try to read a newspaper when i'm lying down in a dark room? my analog clock doesn't have large shiny numbers, so i'd have to get up, turn the light on and walk up to the clock to check the time. and there goes the whole attempt to get lucid dreams since i'm wide awake then.

also how the hell should i go about trying to switch the light on or look into the mirror when i'm in a sleep paralysis? i can't even move my finger, much less get up, walk across the room and press the light switch or go into the hallway to the mirror to look into it and see cenobites instead.

the op image method only induced some sort of numbness anyway. i didn't really feel any weight, and with some effort i could get my hands to move.

eventually i got bored of that and forced myself out of the "sleep paralysis" if that even was it, not just a generic limbs going numb because i didn't move them for so long. then went to sleep normally.

there were also absolutely no hallucinations or sounds.

your dreams are just you braining processing all the information from the previous day. The more times you do reality checks (looking at your hand, checking text, looking at a analog clock dial) the bigger a chance you'll do that in the dream. You'll go holy shit this doesn't make sense and then bam waifu time.

Here are some pointers.

OP's image is bullshit, sleep paralysis is far from nice and shouldn't have to have anything to do with lucid dreaming.

Also the time and reading thing as well as the mirror and all these kind of tests really are habits you are supposed to try to get during the day, not during the night.
If you do, then it's possible that you will repeat these habits to some extent unconciously, then if the perception test at hand didn't give a comprehensive result, then you have a chance of realizing you are dreaming.
And when you are realizing you are dreaming there is a chance that you will wake up due to the shock of realizing it was all a dream, that is unless you are already used to the idea of being conscious while dreaming.
And upon realizing you are dreaming your awareness should rise several levels, though you are still asleep so it can still be foggy.

If you succeed at this you should grow accustomed to being conscious within your dreams, and eventually you should learn how to imprint your own mind onto the dream-world so to speak, it's a world shaped from your mind to begin with, so it may not be as hard as it may sound.
Then again, you are still asleep, so the idea of thinking, or using your imagination in any creative way could be harder than first expected. But no worries there, given enough experience it should come naturally, it all boils down to the amount of time spent while conscious within dreams.

There, some actual tips with no bullshit attatched.
But keep in mind, the lucid dreaming state is generally harder to achieve for people with a good mental health, due to them sleeping better. Though that's just a simplifying thing, but the truth is that it's harder/easier for some than for others for various reasons.

>> No.6049030

I for some reason decided to try what the image said (in OP). Aside from my arms and legs going numb, nothing really happened. I kept having to swallow for some reason, and it always seemed to happen right before I was going to fall asleep. Between swallowing, I would drift into these really deep, rambling thought patterns...and then suddenly snap back and realize I needed to swallow. After like 45 minutes, I gave up and rolled over onto my stomach and was asleep in moments. I vaguely remember several dreams from last night, but I wasn't aware of them. I also felt really...heavy...when I woke up, I'm not sure if I felt really well rested or really tired. I am tempted to try again tonight, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

>> No.6049103

>>6049030
It's just a method of sleep paralysis, not lucid dreaming.
And there's a difference between halucination connected to sleep paralysis and lucid dreams.

OP's picture will just make you feel weak and bad overall, and you might also hear or see some disturbing sounds/images.
So if you do it repeatidly it will just leave you exhausted and sleep paralysis really isn't healthy either way.

OP's image is some faux hallucination thing wrapped up in a "lucid dreaming" wrapping.
And if you actually reach a real lucid dreaming state through this method by screwing with your mind too much, then I can still say that this must be one of the worst ways to reach that goal.

Last night I remember dreaming that I was reading about some Touhous at one point. Meiling apparently had a secret ability that kept the human condition above a certain minimum, and there was some sort of powerful Orochi-looking thing that would be able to kill Meiling and have the opposite effect that would break free fro, being sealed below the SDM if something I can't remember happened, which would also make Remilia and Flandre go berserk. Something like that.

I blame this thread for giving me weird dreams last night. The /jp/ related part was that I and Tenshi, who was slightly tsundere and voiced by Kitamura Eri, climbed over a fence to get into a Mexican pro-wrestling dojo (in this dream, Mexican pro-wrestling was some kind of forbidden art, since all the dojos had been closed up after some great war, they had just stored the most vital equipment for "practicing the art" so that they could be opened up in the future, which me and a bunch of friends were doing now). Keeping the details short, she started climbing and I joined her, even though I was kind of intruding, which seemed to annoy her a little, but I somehow helped her on the way down again which made up for it. Then, she gave me this slightly insecure tsundere smile and thanked me. At that exact moment, I fell in love with her. And I can acknowledge now that it was the happiest moment I've had in months.

WHY MUST THIS HAPPEN?

Just when I'm in a good mood and think I'm handling my solitude pretty well, dreams like these have to come along and remind me what I can never have. All I experienced in this dream was a girl smiling at me and it's enough to remind me how emotionally empty my life is. Fuck you, subconscious mind. ;_;
