Is there any way to skip the scene/text when the game just starts up? It also seems like you can't change window/full screen when the game is running, changing the option in the menu did nothing.

>> No.5942174

>>5942146
Well, I just got to the real menu screen and it seems that you have to pass the first level to get to it (got my ass handed to me three times by the boss before that happened). I guess that's when you can start skipping the the scene in the beginning.

There's a true opening scene after the first level, so it seems that everything only starts when you get through it.

No idea about changing to fullscreen in-game.

I get a lengthy opening video that I can't skip (if I press escape the game quits), then a single line of text in a white box. Can't get past that point, waited like 3 minutes but nothing happened.

I see. I've been finding a use for it at the 3rd stage, where some enemies are nigh impossible to shoot down at range due to their movement.

To those still having trouble with the ice cubes, just watch out for the faint white lines the boss sends out. Stay away from them, and you should be hit by the cubes.
This only somewhat applies to the last life bar though, where the cubes are gigantic. Hope you saved enough life/hyper-attack for that portion.

>> No.5942875

>>5942868
>shouldn't be hit, rather

>> No.5942961

Guess I'll explain some stuff for anyone who can't read the tutorial.
You dash is pretty simple, can be held, change directions, etc. It can also pass through any beam-type attacks, but not missile or special type attacks. As you dash, you will increase your heat gauge. If you dash through a beam-type attack, you will both increase your hyper bar and regain the red part of your life bar, while also increasing your heat gauge even faster. Also dash cancel attacks, it's useful.
Anyway, the heat gauge increases as you dash to a maximum of 300%, which will lower as you stop dashing. The higher this heat gauge is, the more damage you will take from any enemy damage. Just be careful.

Also the sword is pretty damn good for all the levels I've gone through so far. Not so good for first or third level bosses. I spammed dash-sword on 2nd level boss and won pretty easily.
Kind of stuck on desert boss now, really shouldn't be.

So as far as I have heard (this is all from a friend) Sora is working for the army in stage 1, wherein she fights Alte. After getting suicide crashed into, she sees the blue sky for the first time. Afterwards, she starts questioning why they're all fighting in the first place (in b4 what am i fighting for) and the following boss battles pretty much are her finding out that noone really wants to be fighting in the first place, but have their reasons. (Nath, for example, was weaponized to replace Sora when she went missing.)

The last boss on the other hand is a third party, and basically made to ruin everyone's day.

Try to save your "specials" until the boss. If you are doing it right (and on easymodo), you should take minimal damage (0~20%) getting there.

Whack the boss with your sword when nothing is separating you from her. It's only unnecessary to melee her only near the starting bit and the ending bit. It's the most efficient way to dish out damage without receiving too much damage on your end (thank you, invincibility aura..thing).

By having tons of HP left and having 0% heat whilst slashing away, the other projectiles, should they bypass the invincibility, will do minimal damage.

When the boss falls to red, she'll start shooting blocks out from her location, hence why it'd be impossible to melee her at this moment. Try to dodge as best as possible while spamming your long-ranged projectile. I recommend the Rifle-M (due to its burst fire, you'll get more hits in) for this. When you dodge using 'v' long enough, the heat will increase to 300% and kill your defensive capacities. By saving your specials (as mentioned in the beginning) and using them appropriately, the heat gauge can cool down while damaging the boss at the same time.

Note that this method doesn't get you a very high performance grade though, considering the strategy relies on having as much HP as possible moving into the boss fight, and tanking a lot of the hits (which is quite unclassy, if I must say so myself).

>> No.5953112

damn I suck at this game even on easy modo. I think I'm in a bad habit of overdashing, whenever a game offers a way of avoiding projectiles like that I find myself using it when I could just DODGE HARDER. Besides increasing damage received, I end up just plowing into the solid projectiles since it's so hard to control the dash.

Midbosses fuck my shit up, just spent an eternity killing the stage 4 snake and reached the boss with a silver of HP.

>> No.5953186

>>5953112
Snake miniboss is all about remembering its patterns. Use Rifle-M (or the green one, name escapes me at the moment), and be at the location where the target you're locked on to has an opening, then proceed to spam your more powerful shots. Ignore heat, it should be back to 0 by the time the snake retreats, and if you get hit by the pink beams... well then, shame on you.

Watching your replays helps figure this out. You probably couldn't kill it faster because most of your shots were guarded by the snake's body, so I recommend you find locations where that won't happen in every interval.

>> No.5953196

This method takes so long, though. Just dash-sword it. You'll get three hits per dash and hit multiple parts at the same time. Repeat until it stops and is about to send out bullets, avoid them, repeat. I rarely take damage and it's over before I know it.
But then there's the boss fight and that's always a bitch.

>> No.5959381

>>5958939
If you just want to kill her and don't care about your score, then I suggest taking in the sword and artillery. Get in as close to the main body as possible, use sword->artillery->sword->etc. The hit from the sword will give you enough invulnerability to get off an artillery shot, which will do massive damage because all the shots are guaranteed to hit. Then canceling back into the sword gives you another bit of invincibility, repeat, etc. Same with the second phase, just avoid the fire as well. If you do it right, you'll go into phase 3 with 70%+ health.
Get off an artillery shot or two before the shields come up, just dodge until they go away, sword->artillery->etc. Use up hypers while you can here. When she fires off the huge beam, continuously dash into the bottom left corner, you'll get max hyper, which you can use to cover yourself from the 300% heat. Just keep at it and she'll go down easy.

On easymodo, forms 1 and 2 are a joke. Get something that does decent damage at any range (i.e. - Bullet), and DODGE HARDER.

For form 3, dash-cancel your best-damaging sub while dodging the initial beam shots to save time. Bullet when shields are down. You can easily finish the boss by chaining 3 specials once she's in the low reds, since you shouldn't need to use one in forms 1 and 2. Bullet special curves around the shield and thus will hit at any time if aimed at the correct distance, so you shouldn't take too much damage.
Finished with around 40% shield here.

>> No.5960693

For form 3, use the bazooka, even though she uses those bits to shield herself, the bazooka will ALWAYS damage her. Splash damage ftw!
