So I finished this a few days ago. I haven't tried too many (translated) VNs yet but I think this was one of the better ones I played. I played it almost non-stop, when normally I play eroge at night and a couple hours at a time. I think it's 'cause it's one of the only more plotful VNs I played while the others were SoL school settings, and I didn't have the patience to see what happens next. I'm kind of sad to see that it's over.

Are there any other translated VNs that are more plot-based like this one? Also Sharin no Kuni General I guess.

OP, you'll want to start Yuukyuu no Shounenshoujo, which is the fandisc to Sharin no Kuni; you get short stories for each of the main girls, a prequel staring the girl who was shot for for showing up late in the exams, and the highlight event which is Houzoki's and Ken's father's past, explains Ken's and Houzoki's origins. Great story, brings it full circle and a nice ending for one of the better plot-driven games in the genre.

Yeah, I heard of the fandisc, but I can't find a torrent of it anywhere. It also sucks that the translators don't want to translate the girls' short stories. I know Houzuki's past is the main course, but having desserts isn't bad.

Tried to get into it, didn't quite like the pacing and I hated how the game counts repeated scenes as unread text so I can't skip them (I could use the skip even unread text option, but I run the risk of missing new dialouge/monlogue).

Speaking of bad ends, I'm kind of disappointed that Natsumi didn't have her own bad end. The one in the final chapter was more like a Kenichi Bad End. I think there should have been a bad end in Natsumi's chapter where you fail to stop her from killing herself.

Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo.

It's an ero but there's only a few h-scenes. It's entirely possible to not see a single h-scene in the game (except for an unavoidable one in an early flashback), if you turn down Sachi and Touka and then go for the harem ending (happens if you choose to live peacefully and Natsumi affection points aren't high enough). The game is more focused on story/plot than anything, really.

The H-Scenes are fine. Sachi's are good, I think, her second one is probably one of my favorites in the game. Unfortunately, you'll only see it from picking a choice that leads to Bad End shortly after the scene.

All righty, I just finished Snow Sakura. So now I'll move back to a more serious VN. Recommendations so far are Cross Channel (tried it, couldn't get into it), Phantom Inferno, Kikokugai, and Chaos;Head. There's also Tsukihime, which I have downloaded but have yet to play. Which are these VNs would be better for me if I liked Sharin?

And speaking of Sharin, is this an actual sequel or does it just happen to have a similar logo:
