In Ibara's case, she's aghast at humanities progress, and wants to teach these discipline as a way for them to stave off youkai, and ironically the Shinigami, considering some of the content of this thread.

That's a big unknown, but from the Hermit description in PMiSS, its going to be pretty tough for a average schmuck to be that dedicated. Also, while the idea that Ibara is going to replace Shiki as the new moral compass is kind of far-fetched, there is still the possibility that these two would be rivals, thanks to Hermits being frequently targeted by assassins from Hell do to the perceived notion of sin. Ibara trying to get more people to follow this path would probably be seen as a threat to the order by both the Shiki and Komachi.

1. I happen to like her uniform moreso than the other characters' clothing.

2. Komachi and Reimu are incredibly laid-back. Reisen at least has a sense of duty and responsibility. Reimu's also kind of a bitch and hates having to do anything other than laze around her shrine.

3. I'm just going by the fact that she's level-headed.

Also, is Bernkastel a "girl next door" type? She's a short evil little girl in a poofy black dress. As far as Touhous are concerned, my favorites are Reimu, Reisen, Meiling, and Kogasa in no particular order.

Unless Eiki thinks that Ibara is being hypocritical in her treatment of others, or that she's being prejudicial towards young people I don't see why they wouldn't get along. (It's a bit hard to tell at this rate; we barely know anything about Kasen) If anything they would be happy to see someone else with a similar goal in mind.

I think she would be pretty pissed off that Ibara is giving humans an extended stay in hell along with a extended life, since the longer the lifespan the more sin you build up. Also, the fact that a number of souls must move on to the afterlife for the sake of balance, Shiki won't like the idea that some up-start Hermit might be tampering with that order. So its not necessarily that they would not see eye to eye on ideas of morality, but more on the argument of who is actually looking out for the best interest of humanity.
