PortaPros sound mostly tolerable. A good EQ can save the bass a bit but you're kidding yourself if you think they're actually good.

They fit in a pocket and don't cost much, I guess that's something.

The PortaPros have horrible bass. There's way too much of it in the upper bass / lower midrange and the bass response starts dropping at around 60Hz so there's absolutely no low bass at all.
