As of right now, it's possible to upload both MP3 and OGG files, but keep in mind OGG files do not properly display their tags on the site. This means that it'd be best to remove any Japanese from an OGG file before uploading it, if possible.

As always, feedback is always appreciated. Post any error messages you get, post opinions, suggestions, whatever.

Main server holds 7 users. There are a number of relay servers up that automatically redirect you when the main server is full, so don't worry. If you are not automatically redirected, you can manually connect to them. There's a page on the main site to check what relays are currently up.

The Skype room is just for chatting, though it's been less lively since we got IRC since most of the Skypers moved there. Pyonta, maybe my request is retarded, but I'll just try this anyway.

Can you make the "Skip" button, to skip songs, open in a pop-up, just like the request button does?

Reason for this is that when I vote to skip something, and the next song comes up, or when it auto refreshes, my browser nags me if i want to resend my data. Which is fucking annoying. With a popup this wouldn't be an issue.

Don't worry, I have it as well. I was looking into this problem before, but wanted to try to find an actual cause for it.

I also use Firefox, and it works fine for me in Chrome, so it's most likely a setting in Firefox that messes it up. Dedications did work fine at one point for me, and sometimes they randomly do work as they're supposed to.

Oh shit, sorry, I went to sleep listening to the stream. The song was 403 forbiddena - Yorukumoryuu Yamikaze, which now appears twice in the playlist, so clearly there was a bug of some sort.

It was probably something to do with how long it took me to submit the tags page. Maybe SAM picked up the file, then I submitted the tags which did some converting shit, which probably copied the file so two copied existed. Or something, I'm not too sure how it works, but that's a lead.

Ah, I know what you're talking about now. Yes, that is a but, it has to do with how files are stored on the server. When you upload a file, it's given a temporary name until you actually give it a name at the upload page.

If you stay at the upload page without loading it, and SAM updates the library, it'll read the tags of your song, and connect your song with the temporary filename.

So, let's say your song is Pokemon - 5 minutes of Pikachu being cute

When you first upload this song, it'll just be uploaded on the server as something like "Temporary file 23.mp3" and will keep that name until you name it from the upload page.

So let's say you don't name it. You wait 10 minutes before entering in the song name and artist. By this point, SAM has already loaded that song into the library. It has the file stored as "Pokemon - 5 minutes of Pikachu being cute; Temporary file 23.mp3"

However, you update the name now, so the file Temporary file 23.mp3 is renamed to Pokemon - 5 minutes of Pikachu being cute.mp3.

When SAM updates again, it'll get your song added into the database again, but let's say someone else uploads a song. Their song is stored on the server as Temporary file 23.mp3. They accidentally click the banner or something to check the current queue or something, without naming their song. Temporary file 23.mp3 is already loaded into SAM, with the tags "Pokemon - 5 Minutes of Pikachu being cute"

So when you request your song, you see 2 of them on the list and end up picking one at random. SURPRISE! It's not 5 minutes of Pikachu being cute, it's actually 3 minutes of Flandre and Remilia slurping noodles while Sakuya plays banjo music for them in the background.

Quick update on what just happened:
SAM was being grumpy and stopped playing. I restarted SAM and it picked a song at random, since it didn't want to load a track, and when it started up again it picked a track at random.

It played a track that was pure earbleed, especially since there was nothing but silence before that. I skipped it as fast as I could, so sorry about that. I'm removing that song.

As for if the problem can be fixed, there's a way we can fix it but...it'd make it so that your uploads won't go through until you name your file, and I dunno how it'll deal with the current temporary files. Pyonta told me it was possible, but didn't tell me how he planned on doing it. I have an idea that he'll just make it so that SAM doesn't load any file that begins with the filename we use for temporary files.

There's the Spanish version, there's the normal version, and there's the Hirano Aya version. Out of those three uploaded I've only heard the original played here ONE TIME while Spanish and Hirano Aya seem to be requested every day.

Not mad, just find it really odd. Either someone really doesn't like the original that much, they grew up somewhere were the song aired in Spanish (therefore have nostalgic value in the Spanish version, I find this pretty acceptable), or they just enjoy a Spanish version of a Japanese song.

Dunno about the Aya one though. May be the same person requesting that one. I personally cannot stand Aya's voice in that one. It's like she purposely tried to be annoying in that song.

Make sure you're using ONLY ID3v2.4 tags. Don't use ID3v2.3. If you have ANY TAG other than ID3v2.4, the song tags won't display properly.

The script on the page re-writes ID3v1 tags into ID3v2.4 for you, but it's pretty hit and miss. Sometimes it does it properly, other times it still displays the tags wrong.

Let us know if you have any questions about the recent updates. There's now a page added for songs recently uploaded, so you can find songs that had their tags messed up during the upload better.

There's also a list of least requested songs. The database picks 500 or so songs at random that haven't been requested much (or haven't been requested at all) and shows them, in case you need ideas for song requests. You may bump into something you didn't even know was uploaded.

As for the last change, which most people seemed to have noticed as soon as they looked at the page again, we have new request icons. We were having trouble deciding what icon we should use for this, so Pyonta came up with the idea of just having you guys pick an icon for your requests.

As always, your feedback is always welcomed. If you find any problems, or have any further suggestions, please let us know.

Why would you want to display the number of requests on recently uploaded songs though? They should be 0-5 anyway.
The icons are indeed silly. I could add a feature that remembers the last picked icon by your IP address, but the icons aren't there to claim an identity or something. You can just choose whatever you want at the moment of requesting (maybe choose an Utsuho icon on a Nuclear Fusion song or Miku for a Miku song). I was kind of expecting this though, so I might implement it anyway if people really want it. Shouldn't be that hard I guess.
