Hey /jp/, first time poster here so sorry if you've already gone over this: what's the best (free or not, doesn't matter) Japanese dictionary for Windows? I only know of JquickTrans.

>> No.582408

they all use edict anyway, jquicktrans is fine

just wish i had a crack

i also downloaded some "declan" stuff, but it kinda sucks.

Wakan is fantastic.
http://wakan.manga.cz/

It's lightweight, has a good interface, and has a chinese dictionary as well.

I used Jquicktrans in college. Good stuff. Nowadays I've been using Wakan (wakan.manga.cz) on Windows, gjiten on Linux.

Looks good, thanks.

Beware of EDICT.
It's full of errors and ambiguous translations.
If you want to study you should use something else.

I've always just used JWPce for writing and looking up things. I'm fairly sure it uses edict like someone said earlier.

I downloaded Wakan but haven't looked at it yet.

Any reason to pick one over another? Like one of them being better for learning or something?
