2- Their stories are more than rehashed school drama
3- Main character kick asses. Even Shirou is more badass than any KEY main characters. None of them can be GAR as Shiki.
4- EPIC battles.
5- EPIC enemies and last bosses. Gilgamesh, 'nuff said.
6- Exciting stories. I couldn't stop playing Tsukihime until I finished all routes. Clannad just got me bored and I dropped this turd.
7- Philosophical writing. Most of idiots troll Nasu because they just don't get the metaphors. Go read a real book and come back when you understand what that means.
8- Makes better spin-off material.
9- Memorable scenes. I can't remember a single scene of Clannad. I can't forget anything that happened on Tsukihime
10- EPIC stories. On TM visual novels you have an awesome setting where you feel like achieving something big. On KEY novels you're just a boy chasing girls, nothing exciting and just forgettable.

Clannad on a whole is shit.

Redeeming features are Sunohara, Tomoyo, and maybe Kotomi/Kyou (route for kyou sucked but I liked the character)

Failing features are the forced moeblob shit that is constantly put out by KEY; Nagisa, Fuuko, Ryou. Biggest failure was focusing the story on Nagisa. The after story was good for all the parts EXCEPT Nagisa; i.e. Furukawa parents, Yoshino, getting that job and earning a living, and having Ushio (who was a well done moeblob that even I didn't hate).

All of KEY's other works are far worse in comparison and thus = shit.

Moeblobs and forced relationship all around, I can't stand this kind of thing even if I was tied on my chair. Visual Novels are made to be exciting and makes the player forget the real world for a moment, something you can't with Clannad or other KEY games because -sorry to say that- they're too boring.

Cute girls and school it's fun at small doses, look at Tsukihime and FSN and see how it worked well. Now look at Clannad or Kanon and see how /jp/ in a whole feels towards them. Of course there's KEY fans around here but they're the minority and most of people played the game because they're visual novel players and nothing else.

I think visual novels are a genre made for variety with fighting scenes AND romance that's why people hates KEY so much around here. These kind of things aren't really the taste of Americans so people should try to understand.
