Most of the advice here is solid, except the light switch and mirror parts. I would not recommend it. Shit tends to start nightmares. Safer dream signs are things like counting the digits on your hand, looking at digital clocks, or trying to push your finger through your hand.

Most importantly, take it easy. If you're too hyped up when using this method, it won't work.

I honestly tried very, very hard to get to the point of lucid dreaming.

It didn't work for me. I wrote down every fucking dream I got into a notebook. At the time of doing it I remembered every dream I had every time I fell asleep.

But I couldn't trigger a lucid dream. I'm unbelievably jealous of you all.

>> No.5760810

Lucid dreams gone nightmares are absolutely horrid, it doesn't matter what kind of control you have achieved, fear will always get the best of you in a dream.
The best higher levels of control will grant you is an easier time waking up.

And yeah, I not all that sure how easy it is to "force" lucid dreams if they don't come naturally to you.

There are of course a few tips, such as making it a habit to check what time it is each other minute, or reading all kinds of papers.
It doesn't work for everyone though and I believe you need to have a rather unsettled mind to begin with, if you sleep too deep you won't have a lucid dream.
The only ones I know who have had regular lucid dreams have had them during periods of time int heir life that was generally shit, and times when nightmares also were common.

There also seem to be a connection between the state of mind that allows lucid dreaming and the state of mind that brings forth nightmares.
Now you can have plenty of lucid dreams without nightmares, I know I did, but nightmares can still be common and if you are all up and happy during the days and weeks, then I believe you can have a harder time to reach lucid dreaming states,

Actually yes I've had lucid dreams with touhous in them.
They were very strange, though.
I was Tenshi, in 19th century Britain, going on a mission. I drove around in a van and molested little boys in dark alleys. Flandre tagged along and finished them off. We went to the SDM to deal with a report from Remi of a pack of wild fairy maids. We met Cirno and Kogasa along the way to the SDM. Kogasa was the one who disposed of them, by surprise.

Nightmare and lucid dreams are pretty close for me. I can turn my nightmares into lucid dreams if I "gain" control (simply realizing it's a dream, then I can picture a chainsaw or something out of no where and "dominate" whatever is haunting me). I can easily induce nightmares simply by stacking heavy blankets on myself when I sleep. Once I have control, it's a lucid dream. Most of mine begins in a very dark room where I can't see anything. I didn't realize how to solve that until I snap my finger during one of them and light turns on. After that, it's pretty much pure fun for me. I've had intercourse with multiple females (good looking, but sadly not 2D) many time, but wakes up every time right before orgasm. On another note, taking it too fast (going straight to the thrusting without foreplay) wakes me up.

I discovered how to lucid dream by accident.
At work I always have 3 day weekends, so when my alarm goes off at 6AM in friday I just hit snooze and stay in bed.

Well, the damn thing goes off EVER FIVE MINUTES, and I keep hitting it. I've already had a full night's rest, I'm just lazy and don't want to get out of bed. Soon enough I am back in dreamland.

I start to loose control after some time in my dream as I go from half awake to mostly asleep, but then my alarm pulls me back, and my body has gotten so good at hitting snooze I don't even have to think about it.

And so I keep going up and down with my level of control until it's like 3PM and I've had like 5 lucid dreams I can barely remember, and forget a few minutes after waking up.

All I remember about them is that they were awesome and I had a fuck ton of fun. It got pretty addicting too.

Never lucid dreamed of a waifu or even having sex for that matter. I think they were all more action oriented. I guess I just liked kicking asses more than fucking them.

I mean really, would you rather have sex or be part of a heist? I'll take the heist, any loser can have sex. A heist is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

>> No.5761906

I've tried a countless number of times, failing each and every time. I always end up getting a crappy 3D real-life dream once I finally do fall asleep. Now THAT is a weird motherfucking experience to wake up to. It's only happened once or twice before I think, and it was during a randomly generated (not self-induced) lucid dream about something sexually exciting.

Lucid dreams are not something I try to aim for, though, because sleep paralysis is goddamned terrifying, and the nightmares you might trigger make you feel all uneasy even after you wake up, like you've got to turn all the lights on or something.

I'm currently trying to get back into the lucid dreaming habit. I used to do it naturally as a kid, and regularly wrote down detailed logs.

The closest things I have to nightmares are mere anxiety dreams.

The closest things I have to waifu dreams are dreams of playing some VN. When I play games inside a dream, the dreamt simulation expands to surround my consciousness completely. I am effectively teleported into the game world.

Waking sleep paralysis has happened a few times to me. I never get unpleasant hallucinations with it. I hope it happens more; I hear that's a convenient state of consciousness from which one can easily slip into a dream without losing focus. The technique is to just visualise some scene, relax, and fall back to sleep with that in mind. If you get it right, you'll slip into a dream and the first scene you're in will be the scene you imagined, with no (or very little) break in the continuity of your consciousness (thus retaining lucidity).

The technique can be done without starting from a state of paralysis too, preferably after a few hours of sleep. So set your alarm for the middle of the night.
