I did try Aika, but I didn't get very far in it. Although I was looking for something with cute graphics, if the healer class isn't overlooked like most MMOs, I suppose I can give it a try.

It was in the alpha, and the only time it is bad at all in the beta is due to server lag which is being fixed as it's one of the main issues right now (that and login errors).

I think it's extremely fun with the new combat system, I mean I know for sure XIV is going to be like XI was/is The gameplay and game as a whole is surely going to be a love it or hate it type of thing, but aside from all the trolls I've seen (mostly WoW players and people who didn't get invites to the beta who just make shit up) a lot of people really like the new combat system.

The problem with post people who talk about it is they are playing the BETA expecting the full game and complaining about things like "there arent enough quests" "why are there invisible walls hurrr" without keeping in mind this isn't a DEMO but a test of the gameplay mechanics.

What I mean is if you don't know - the alpha had a terrible combat system - they made an entirely new one for the beta which they plan on keeping for retail as well. The only problem with it that I can see is the server problems that are being worked on.

Of course! You can't have a game like this and not charge for it.

The pricing is reasonable though, 13 dollars a month (or euros if you're over there). For extra characters it's 3 bucks each but keep in mind this is a game where you don't NEED more than one character really so it's not a big deal.

I plan on having 3 anyway, simply for aesthetics.

It's 13 bucks for 30 days regardless of what day you start on.

XI had problems because it was monthly - so unless you joined on the first you'd have paid for a month you didn't even play in. So they fixed it by making it based on when you pay instead of by month.

The races are completely the same as each other at start this time stat-wise, the only difference is the physical look.

This MIGHT change by release but Tanaka has said he plans on keeping it this way so it probably won't change.

Stats are also resettable to an extent now thanks to the job switching being such a big part of the game, it has a cool-down timer though but yeah.
