First off I know that I am a newfag when it comes to vn's but i would love to get in to them. I know on /a/ they have lists of what you should watch / read. I was wondering if there was something similar to those for vn's. On a side note if there is any special programs required to install / translate please enlighten me. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

you should just start with something that is in english, there are alreade decent ammount of good things translated ( use vndb to see whats translated). And there isn't any method to read untranslated things properly if you have zero knowledge in moon. There is the AGTH+TA method but it should be not used if you don't atleast have the very basics of moon in your grasp.

I think I've seen some threads about Ever17 over on /a/ so I think I'll give it a shot.

BTW I was under the impression that /jp/ was the board that talked about vn's and I apologize if I was wrong but thanks go out to the people that helped me so far.

I've been lurking on 4chan for about a year now (for a long time I only thought 4chan was just about /b/ and nothing much else important.) I've browsed through /v/ a few times and saw a few threads on Rance and such but it seems to me that they discuss primarily console games.
