back to the OP's question, Japan and Thailand are actually on good terms since Thailand was Japan's only real ally during WWII. Although it's a bit more one sided, Japanese are indifferent but generally nice to Thais since a lot of them have been there before on vacation, so don't really expect a whole lot of problems. Thais on the other hand LOVE Japan, in a recent Japanese survey, 98% of Thais had a favourable opinion of Japan compared to something like, 8% or something for China and Korea
