Wow, they actually had some good advice for Shiki.

"What I would focus on is the fact that your Sister is the one who asked you to come and live with her. She clearly either dosen't want to be alone, or wants to make sure that you are OK. Either way, it is clear that she cares about you (perhaps a bit too much, in a controlling way). What you should talk to her about is that you are happy she wants to help, but you can show her that you are ok to do things in your own way too (go out and do things together, prove that being out and about is within your power, etc)."

Here's another one, after they suggested he go on outings with her:

"Well, remember that they don't have to be huge excursions. A day of shopping at a few local malls together (make sure to travel to a few different ones) would go down well. Go see a movie late at night together to prove that being out late isn't a problem. Things like this will work for two reasons.
One is that she will be with you, so in her mind she will be ready to help if something goes wrong.
Two is that by seeing you doing these things, she should become more at ease with your situation.
This isn't likely to change radically overnight, but she will soften up on what she thinks you can and cannot do. The important thing is to *show* her that you can do them, not just *tell* her that you can."

Man, this is something else.

let's be friends, /adv/

>> No.5426990

>>5426934

I assume it's a matter of idle hands. Every board on 4chan is consistently shit - that is, going through some kind of a "pattern" that exists only to fill empty time. An example would be our endless Shkanon is impossible/certain/which touhou's ass you'd like to lick/diaper threads. The good boards are the ones that, when given a proper signal, can produce something thought-out and interesting, like how /tg/ sometimes just produces a thread full of absolute gold seemingly at random.

I suspect this was simply a matter of feeding /adv/ an interesting enough problem to shake them out of idle mode for a while.

>> No.5426992

I suppose a better word choice would have been "normally". But I'm still confident in my assessment.

The random bullshit that usually goes on is what you get when you push just empty noise through the 4chan filter. Put a signal in and you will get a signal out, if the board has hope (not every board has, for example there is no fucking way to get anything good out of /b/).

Stop coming to /lit/ and getting butt-angry at people when they make fun of your obsession with Japanese pop culture.

It is not /lit/'s fault that Mango and Doujinshi are not works of literary art. Nor is it their fault that being a NEET is borderline retarded.

Also, exploding into a tearful rage when I appear in your thread only makes you stick out even more as a /jp/ visitor. When I am posting on /lit/, I receive genteel and civil treatment, and conversation flows naturally.

This makes it even more jarringly obvious that /jp/ cancer is on /lit/ when, suddenly, an Anonymous starts raging out of nowhere in his thread about how I'm the worst tripfag ever.

Shirou is not an idiot. Shirou has NO capability for social relations because he's a pile of swords, not a person.
He, himself, is rather intelligent and good at what he does (minor mechanics, fighting/archery, and helping people). He sucks at talking with people because the fire 10 years ago burnt away things we consider him an idiot for (self preservation and social intuition).
