1. How come sometimes hitting a bullet costs you one life bar and sometimes it takes away 3 bars? This seems very random.
2. What's the difference between charged spellcard attack and the one that you can fire instantly?
3. What is that combo counter in the upper left corner and what is its purpose?
4. What does each powerup that you can collect from Lily or bosses do? I only know that one of them fires level 4 spellcard instantly, but the other ones are a mystery to me.
5. Why is my character sometimes firing a boss attack at random?
6. How can I unlock Extra Mode? Should I beat the game without using any continues or just clear the stages with each of the characters?
7. How can I get all of the Prismriver sisters? I've got only Lyrics, but I'm sure the rest of them are playable.

1. depends on how "direct" of a hit it was. also, you tend to take more damage the longer the match has gone on.
2. single charge shots are essentially free, so you could fire them constantly if that were a good strategy.
3. combo counter goes up if you kill several things in quick succession. you should be trying to control the speed at which you kill fairies so that the counter never resets.
4. look these up, i don't really remember myself. point bonuses and stiff, IIRC.
5. You launch a boss when you reach a certain number of points. this is related to your combo counter; if you keep your counter up, your points will go up faster.

1.) Anon is right.

2.) Instant attacks reduce your gauge to zero and you can't use normal charged shots afterward until you build it up. Also, limited number.

3.) Points and at certain values (100k, 300k, 500k) it spawns a boss on the opponent's side. 500k also spawns an instant lvl 3 spellcard attack.

4.) Ex - Ex attacks, G - Full Gauge, 点 - Points, 弾 - Shots

5.) See 2.

6.) Beat it with every character.

7.) Beat Extra with every character.

Actually, you just have to beat Extra Mode with Sikileki.

Lunasa and Merlin are only playable in Match Mode, though.

#2 is the most important question there. charged spell attacks only subtract the level of the charge - 1 when used. if you have a charge level of 2 and fire off via the bomb key, you will have 0 charge left. if you charge it up, though, you will still have 1 charge.

this is by far the most important aspect of the game on higher difficulties or longer matches, as with most characters a single level 2 bomb will get you ~1 level of charge. basically, on lunatic, you can chain-bomb pretty much forever with most characters once the bullet density reaches "critical mass".

go try out a reisen vs cirno lunatic match to quickly see what i mean.
