Recently I was asked, how I got to come to Japan and how I'm working in japan, this question came in a delicate moment of my life, when I'm deciding what to do with my life as an artist and as a person.

While it's true that I'm in Japan, I'm not working here as an illustrator, I'm learning the language and it's taking more time that expected, for me it's kinda difficult to keep the motivation and study the language without worrying about my life as an artist. At the same time, the problem is that I really don't have a plan to follow a solid objective.

I like living here and I'm getting used to life here, there good and not so good things about living here, I feel like an outsider, the "Gaijin" on the subway, the invader, it's difficult not to feel down. I would like to do some animation studies in Japan, but again the salary here in japan for animators is the lowest and the working conditions are not the best for artists also the feeling that learning Japanese is never ending and I feel that if I choose to go to the university it will take more time to get all the knowledge I want to know now, maybe I should go to America?

Also I was asked about getting a working visa, in my view I think is really difficult to get a visa here as a professional, specially when there's thousands of people with the same or better skills than you, drawing is good as a hobby, but come to japan and work being a foreign artist here drawing manga is like a joke, even if your work is good, there's a a lot of racism going on, sometimes is subtle but noticeable, and it can pile up easily. I might be negative, but this is how I see things here so far.
