I've done weed, coke and some random prescribed pills, and I had no depressed feeling later. The coke was WAY too expensive for the short while it lasted, and honestly I liked the high of weed more, and it was a fuck load cheaper.

I carved out a life with enough income to support me and my son (who I have full custody of).
