As useful as Lancer's Gae Bolg is in one on one combat--that which you would between servants, the Ghostbuster is an even more perfect refinement.

Not only do they specialize in close combat, but they take it a step further, and are experts in controlling ghosts, spirits, and the paranormal.

It is a chilling thought to a master to consider that a Ghostbuster may be summoned by another. In that case, their own servant may be stripped from them and placed in containment with no chance to fight back, but keeping the master bound to that servant at the same time.

Noble Phantasm: B: Proton Pack. A level of power most servants and mages cannot fathom, a man-portable nuclear accelerator designed to contain paranormal energies. Effective at what it was designed to do, but also effective as a weapon against normal matter, burning and radiating anything the beam touches.
Noble Phantasm: A+: Ghost Trap. A temporary prison no spirit may escape from. The beams from the proton pack drain the power of the beast and subdue it long enough for the trap to be positioned and activated.

If Gil can easily kill Berserker and Shirou can dominate Gil using his similar method of attack in a reality marble than I fail to see how the superior Archer could be killed by Berserker. We don't get to see the attacks he uses in fate route if I recall correctly. Maybe he can't use his reality marble? Maybe he wants to die? There is no indication to suggest either but there is some suggestion that he cannot fully realise his own abilities.

Archer also goes hand to hand with Lancer and does pretty well. The only person I think he should consistently lose against is Saber with Rin or some other competent person as a master. I think he should be able to kill every other servant more consistently than they can kill him.

Actually, Archer is pretty weak for a Servant if you look at his stats. He's not a true Heroic Spirit, he's a COUNTER GUARDIAN. Which means he's at his best when he's under Aylaya's or whatever the fuck the Spirit of Humanity's name is control.

As a Servant, he sucks.

However, he cheats like a motherfucker with the Sword Spam and Broken Phantasms.

(And Archer's my favorite Servant, and that's WHY he is. Well, other than the conflicted personality, the tension between him and Rin, and the hotness. He's the weakest technically, but he's smart enough to cheat and press every advantage he has.)

Stats aren't really all that important. Every servant seems to fight relatively on-par with every other servant regardless of their stats, with the sole exception of Berserker. Its the abilities of the individual, the properties of their weapons, their spells, and the their noble phantasms that seem to decide servant battles.

Archer has low abilities in some areas to let him have these ridiculous powers. Archer was Just As Planning since the beginning and... actually, in the UBW route he didn't take any of the fights seriously while at full power.
