Copy/pasting seafood: the VN

Tsundere mantis shrimp girl. Slapstick comedy often associated with tsunderes isn't quite slapstick for her, given her punches can blow holes in walls and people alike.

Shy krill loli, though over 18 of course. (Rightfully) afraid that everyone else is out to eat her, runs away at the slightest provocation. Needless to say, you eventually do get to eat her.

Hikikomori scallop girl, whose route also doubles as the "bro" route. You may either choose to warm her to society or become a hikikomori yourself, playing whatever online game anthropomorphized clams may play all day and cuddling her to sleep in her shell every night.

Mimic octopus route for those who like nukiges. More H-scenes than everyone else combined, often appealing to fetishes (breast expansion? lactation? ) due to her shapeshifting ability.

Yandere starfish girl, creepy stalker type. If you talk to other girls, she starts stalking them too, and it doesn't end well (starfishes are slow but unstoppable murder machines of the deep. ) Is into rough sex, asks you to cut her up during foreplay (starfishes are also great at regenerating and can even end up increasing in number due to it. )

Starfish stalk other sea creatures?

>> No.5179673

>>5179610
Starfish are practically underwater Romero zombies, with a bit of Resident Evil's T virus mixed in for good measure. They slowly shamble towards you, and you being some bivalve or coral, there's practically nothing you can do but watch in horror (well, there are swimming mussels that jump away at the slightest touch. ) as it slowly crawls over you, dips in its stomach and digests you alive.

And like the Tyrant series, unless you burn them or otherwise thoroughly destroy them, they ignore any kind of damage and even regenerate a new starfish from each seperate piece afterwards.

Bogleech has a good article on awesome echinoderms, including two that turn themselves into living deathtraps, raising themselves to imitate a shelter and dropping down on unsuspecting fish taking refuge there. I would suggest reading it.

>> No.5180031

>>5179673
Oh, it also seems those scallops and mussels sense starfish by their "smell", rising to act only when an actual starfish is nearby and ignoring other movements.

Also, Echinoblog is another excellent source of information about skinless, carnivorous sea urchins with an entire ecosystem living struck on their spikes, sea cucumbers evolving anal teeth to deter fish that make their home on their body cavity, mud-dwelling starfish that can turn their anus into a drill and have inbuilt water circulation pumps, and other curiosities. The author is also very enthusiastic about his posts, so it's entertaining to read them.

Oh, the stalking bit was because of their slow, silent creep reminded me of the stalker-type yandere behavior, though starfish indeed notice their prey via chemical cues and home in before confirming by touch. It must be noted that the prey itself is not defenseless either - in addition to the aforementioned swimming bivalves, various barnacles, algae, hydrozoans and sponges growing on potential prey reduce the preference of starfish for those individuals, possibly by masking the "scent" of the bivalve prey, preventing the starfish from holding on or releasing deterrent chemicals.
