Anyway, if they have something about botany or folk medicine I'll be right in. I know next to nothing about plants and that's just shameful.

Picture related, it's one of the very few interesting plants I know. Roridula has sticky leaves that catch insects, but does not digest them. Instead, the dead critters serve as an all-you-can-eat buffet for mutualist assassin bugs, and the plant gains its share of nutrients from the predators' poop (it even has poop absorbtion glands on its leaves, apparently) Cooperation between two unusual partners (assassin bugs are usually vicious predators that wouldn't have much to do with plants) is cute, and poop eating is romantic after all.
