YMK was nothing special, though a pretty good game all in all, but that part was so completely unpredictably awesome that I couldn't help but have a huge grin on my face the entire time. I didn't see it coming, and yet it wasn't completely our of place, and that's something I value greatly.

In my opinion the writing was on par with the rest of the game, the focus was pretty clear, and while some parts of Mizuki's personality were annoying for me(well, okay, the parts that were the focus of the route), please don't confuse "I don't like her" with "unlikable heroine".

Yeah, they are.
While first few episodes of Lucky Star might be hard to enjoy for some people, after the director changed it's one of the best comedy focused slice of life shows in recent years.
And K-ON is just a solid slice of life with solid writing and really good direction. Second season so far seems to be actually even better. Some people expect it to be a show about music though, I can see how they could be disappointed.
Of course, it would be infinitely better if it didn't have Yui, but apparently retard moe is pretty popular.
