The max for troops are varied. Those limits can be broken by having them fight in battle. Then you can buy more troops because the limit is raised after.

I've already done True route and Ran route. This is the first time I've gone against this house, the first time they got absorbed by the demon army, the second time by house Mori.

First two times I bought troops whenever I wanted and it got so the enemy outclassed all my alts. My main 6 can keep up but the others get screwed so I sucked at defense. This time I was hoping to do things right until I hit this fight.

I can go back 8 turns to before I attacked them but unless I want to do the same path I did before I don't know how to get around not attacking them.

I think house Takuga is just a wall of dicks. Nobody has had this level of troops until now, I did fine against everyone else. Their special units must be set in the thousands regardless of what point you are in the game.

I'll go back 8 steps and try to attack Mouri but I don't wanna take a country with gourds. Oh well. All I have left without gourds are the hannys, woot.

What's the star level? If it's just 0 star, then buying troops won't matter to the enemy at all. Takuga always has high troop numbers no matter what so it's better if you do buy troops for your men before facing them, as well as using books to increase the strength of your forces.
