So, yeah. Just finished clearing Yume miru kusuri, and i'm in need of more visual novels.
Since /jp/ is the authority on that field, can anyone illuminate me?
Heard good things about Ever17, so i might be trying that one. Thoughts?

Kira kira is my favorite.
You would enjoy it, but if you want something "like" YMK try sharin no kuni + fandisk. Pretty good stuff.

If you don't like it you don't like it. The drama happens in the kirari route after you come home from the giant concert. What happened honestly blindsided me and made me more sad then kana: imouto.
It makes the true route really heartwarming too.

Chie's route is good too, because you have brotastic adventures.

Sarina's is pretty bad and generic and has an abrupt ending.

I liked all the characterization in the common route, it made me really love the characters.

Exactly. That's why I'm saying the game was bad because of that. If you feel nothing for the characters, the endings don't matter, you don't give a fuck. That's why I only liked it for the setting, not for the actual story. And that's why I think pretty lowly of Saya no Uta.

They're both great games, but they're too different story and atmosphere wise to really compare. Must we always argue over which is the best, can't we just say that we really enjoyed both of them?

>> No.4921302

>>4921287
I didn't enjoy both. But I think they're pretty similar. Probably only because of the horror aspect, even though it's not all too prominent in Chaos;Head. I made a thread for Chaos;Head asking whether it was worth continuing with, and a lot of people said first half is good, second half is shit. What the fuck is with that, why do people dislike the second half of Chaos;Head, I'm curious. It was my favourite part personally.

If you're looking for something similar to YMK, then I strongly suggest Crescendo and Symphonic Rain.

Now, as for VNs with similar settings which I recommend you stay away from, there's Cross Channel, Sharin no Kuni and Clannad. They're all plagued by too much stupid humor and shitastic pacing. However, if you do enjoy unnecessarily high amounts of inappropriately placed slapstick and pervert humor and think you can tolerate shitty pacing and 1 hour flashbacks, then go ahead and try them.
