I'm actually expecting a game based on this.

As the legend goes, one summer day every year youkai would have their own festival, running across human settlements while making merry. Those who behold them while they tread would drop dead.

How does this translate to Touhou? Someone strong enough punches a large hole into the Boundary (youkai can pass through the boundary, they covertly send kidnappers out), weaker/childish youkai run outside, Reimu and Marisa (and probably someone border-related like Ran) go call everyone back the Gensokyan way.
