It miht seem like I'm trolling, but I'm geniunely not. I'm just curious, what is /jp/ into? What should I try? I'm getting fuck bored of western TV, and I just watched Welcome to the NHK (My first anime since I was about 7).

/jp/ is mostly about VNs/eroge and some doujin games.

Hey OP, I just finished NHK. It was an emotional gut punch of a series, mostly because I had nothing but hate for Misaki and Satou should've either fucked the shit out of his Sempai or gone with the bromance he had with Yamazaki, but it was definitely worth watching, if only because it's like the emotional equivalent of a train wreck, watching a character you can usually relate WAY too much to get sucked into an emotional leech of a woman while the the REAL positive influences (Yamazaki, Sempai) on his life leave him to move on with their lives

As for other anime, I can pretty safely recommend some old Adult Swim stuff, since that's how I got introduced into anime myself. Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Outlaw Star, Big O, and Fooly Cooly are all pretty entertaining

If you like more emotional and philosophical stuff (at the risk of being a little more boring due to these series being action-lite), you could watch Wolf's Rain, Paranoia Agent, and maybe .hack//sign, though I never finished that last one myself

I can't really think of any other series that I'd recommend at the moment. Good luck, OP

No seriously, I could go on for hours about why Misaki is a terrible character. Satou was essentially worthless to her outside of how he validated her own existence. She openly stated that she thought he was a pathetic, worthless person. Her only reason for liking him was because he was even more pathetic than himself, and her life only had purpose if she so self-righteously tried to "fix" him

What was REALLY fucking hilarious is that throughout the goddamn series, she does nothing but SUPPORT his Hikikomori ways while it's positive influences like Yamazaki and Sempai that break him out of it. Who feeds Satou when he's hungry instead of making him work for his food? Misaki. Who spews Psychology 101 rhetoric at him instead of making him get off his ass and get a job? Misaki. Who made him rebuild his self image into a hikikomori that NEEDS to be fixed by SOMEONE ELSE? FUCKING MISAKI

Throughout the ENTIRE series, we see that fixing a hikikomori is fucking simple: let the bastard starve if he won't eat. That fixes the Class President's brother (whatever his name was, I forget). That WAS fixing Satou, with Yamazaki kicking his ass into gear as they made their eroge. Hell, even Satou's fairly mentally disturbed Sempai was a better influence than Misaki, because Sempai didn't just make him out to be some weak, worthless person that needed to be SAVED. In fact, Sempai and Yamazaki both brought Satou to a happier, more familiar and comfortable mental state, which is a shit load more than Misaki ever did for him

Fuck Misaki. Fuck her self righteousness, fuck her emotional leeching of Satou, fuck her needy attempts at self validation, fuck her creepy stalker mannerisms, fuck her gloom an' doom outlook on life and its influence on Satou, fuck her coddling of Satou instead of whipping him into shape, fuck her fuck her FUCK HER
