hey guys I'm trying to learn Hiragana in my free time rather than taking a course. Right now I'm using the DS game "My Japanese Coach" in combination with this website http://www.realkana.com/hiragana/.. If you know any other good resources you should share them.

Should I?
Should I really?

I just browsed 4chan normally and used a chart to figure out any kana that showed up. It only took a couple of days.

There's actually a much better game for DS, it's homebrew software, it's a no-bullshit quiz game type that drills you on the kana. Works amazing, I played it for a couple hours a day for a week and kana was memorized.
That was the easy part though.

Print two pages with Hiragana and Katakana characters.
Pick up a notebook and a pencil and start writing pages of the same characters till you're confident you've learned it.
It should take a day each 5-10 characters, depending on your effort.
After that pick up a VN and start reading hiragana/katakana, you won't recall all of them, but that's fine, just search them up again.
Eventually you will learn them without even noticing.
